Fortunately, I managed to rescue Cecilia and Ruril.

[At least we managed to rescue them. If we hadn't found them, things could have ended terribly.]

It really almost had.

If I hadn't noticed something was wrong and suggested searching for them, I would never have seen either of them again.

[Why don't you be honest? You only found them because, unable to stand your jealousy toward the two of them any longer, I asked whether we should search for them.]
