Eternal Spire (4)

The sword cut through the air, tracing a blue arc. Infused with inner energy, its blade glimmered with a cool, subdued radiance, as if it held moonlight within.

-Clang!

The sword collided with the Black Night Wolf King's enormous claws, and a tremendous impact rang out. Its claws were harder than steel, but the blade reinforced with inner energy pierced through them.

-Slaash!

The blade pierced its claw, leaving a deep wound in its foreleg. Red blood gushed out and scattered through the air. It let out a pained howl and staggered backward.

I adjusted my grip on the sword and settled into a stance. Its red eyes flashed warily. It hesitated for a moment, moving as if to put some distance between us.

“Thinking of running?”

I sneered and pointed the tip of my sword at it. The blade, imbued with inner energy, glowed faintly as I aimed it straight at its red eyes.

It seemed to understand my provocation and growled low, but it didn't charge right away. As if it could learn, it planted its forelegs firmly on the ground and gauged my movements.

After circling me at a wary distance, it suddenly backed away. Black smoke began to rise from the spot where it stood...
