Eternal Spire (6)

The deeper we went into the cave, the narrower the passage became, and the more confusing the branching paths grew. But since I already knew the original story, I had no trouble finding my way.

‘Turn right here, then go straight.’

I quickened my pace and surveyed our surroundings. Moss covered the cave walls, and patches of blue-glowing ore were embedded here and there, faintly illuminating the path.

Ekaterina followed cautiously behind me. Her violet eyes anxiously scanned our surroundings.

"How do you know your way around so well?“

She asked, looking curious.

"I've got a good instinct for this,“

Ekaterina seemed doubtful of my answer, but she didn't ask anything else.

Before long, the passage widened, revealing an enormous chamber. An altar shaped like a snake stood in the center, with an old chest resting on top.
