“Del…phine Yurdina…….”

However, my faint mutter did not reach Senior Delphine. As always, she approached Seria with leisurely steps.

Seria flinched and lowered her head. It was an instinctive reaction. She avoided Delphine’s gaze, her body trembling faintly.

“Don’t worry. You’ve proven your usefulness. At least while I’m head of the household, you won’t be stripped of the Yurdina name.”

She spoke as though Seria had hunted down prey for her sake. That was impossible.

More than anyone, Seria had wanted to flee from that day’s memories. Her sword existed for her own sake. So did the magical beast she had cut down with it.

Even so, Delphine merely smiled calmly, as though Seria’s wishes were of no importance.

To win, they used every means at their disposal. As long as they stayed within the rules, nothing was off-limits. So that was what House Yurdina was like.
