There are idiots who occasionally get confused. They blame magical girls for failing to protect someone who died because of an unlucky encounter with an Abyssal One, and ask magical girls to solve human problems that have nothing to do with the Abyssal Ones.
How many groups and countries have gotten burned by using magical girls to deal with human problems? And yet human desire never seems to cool.
