Chapter 25 - Divorce Ceremony FIN

This is the first visitor I've ever wanted to turn away at the door so badly.

When I came to the entrance following my sister's words, I discovered that Trisha had come to our mansion. And she looked at me, saying she had something to tell me. 

What on earth is this situation?

I didn't understand it right away, but it wasn't a particularly welcome situation.

No... Why did she come after we even got divorced?

I could roughly guess why she came. Again, Trisha was a woman who worked for the glory of the Dwenbell family. It wasn't surprising that such a woman would come looking for me, who could handle spirits.

Didn't we just have the divorce ceremony today? I didn't think Trisha would come at this point, not even a day after the divorce ceremony. 

What on earth is she going to say now?

Is she going to say something shocking?

Trisha was the kind of person who would do anything for her family. Because she was the kind of person who could throw away her own life without hesitation, I couldn't help but be a bit tense about what she was about to say.

I thought of the worst case scenario, like asking me to marry her... but fortunately, it wasn't the worst case scenario.

"What do you want to talk about?"

"I'll help you get back together with my sister."

Trisha told me the purpose of her visit. Kailyn, who divorced me. She said she would help us remarry.

Hey. What on earth are you saying? 

While I was responding to Trisha's words with silence...

Trisha continued to state her argument regardless, "Although you've divorced now, I can bring you two back together."

Trisha said she could make us remarry after our divorce.

"I'll help you in various ways. Let's try to change my sister's mind together."

She was saying let's work hard together and remarry.

"You don't want to divorce my sister like this either... right? Originally, I wouldn't have thought of helping, but this time I'll specially help you."

She said we don't have to end it like this, and if I take her hand, we would avoid ending it.

My expression soured as I looked at Trisha. 

How can she say such things so casually? Please stop saying such horrible things about remarrying Kailyn.

She seems to be misunderstanding.

Thinking about it again, it was such an absurd situation. Thinking about why this situation occurred, I came to the conclusion that Trisha must have misunderstood my relationship with Kailyn. Maybe Kailyn didn't give her a detailed explanation?

To begin with, Kailyn was basically indifferent to others and found them somewhat bothersome. And that was no exception even for people from her own family, even her only sister. So there was a high possibility that Trisha didn't get an explanation from Kailyn about why we were divorcing.

"I don't love Kailyn."

I honestly told Trisha about my feelings for Kailyn.

But this was the truth.

"It's exactly as I said. I have no intention of continuing my married life with Kailyn."

Kailyn and I divorced by mutual agreement. The very disappointing behavior Kailyn showed when she came to the village before. How could I continue married life after seeing such behavior?

It was natural that I didn't like Kailyn. And Kailyn didn't like me either.

"Both Kailyn and I are very satisfied with the divorce right now."

So it meant that both of us were satisfied with the result.

"I hope you won't say things like making us remarry."

So please stop doing unnecessary things. We finally got divorced after being forced to marry, and now we're back on track. I don't want to do something crazy like remarrying again.

I honestly laid it all out, and...

"How... how can you not love my sister?"

Trisha looked quite shocked hearing these words. Was this natural at this point? Actually, I half expected her to react like this.

My answer was firm. I said I would absolutely not accept Trisha's proposal, and...

"I hope you'll leave."

I told her to disappear from my sight quickly. Hearing these words, Trisha...

"...I understand. Even though I went to all this trouble to talk to you. Hmph."

She left as if she was no longer interested. It seemed she had no intention of clinging on. Anyway, the small incident after the divorce ceremony seemed to have been resolved safely.

The next day, I said goodbye to Amelia and immediately set off for the village. It was time to return now that the divorce ceremony was over. Amelia waved her hand at me, and I waved back at her.

On the way back to the village after everything was over...

Phew... It was resolved well.

Thinking about it again, I thought the divorce from Kailyn worked out really well. I didn't think we wouldn't divorce when we even held a divorce ceremony, but I was a bit worried that we might remain in an ambiguous relationship or something like that.

But Kailyn seemed to have no lingering feelings at all. We were able to become complete strangers with no relationship at all. I thought this situation was really fortunate.

Now that Kailyn was following the path of the original Kailyn, saying she'd become a mage, I really wanted to avoid getting involved with her. I was very satisfied with this situation.

Hmm... In Trisha's case...
