The gigantic tree I'd first seen after the world changed.

Come to think of it, that was an abnormal presence, too.

They grew here and there, making their presence known, yet no one paid them any mind. As if they'd been there from the beginning.

Could you call them "everyday anomalies" that had blended into the extraordinary world of monsters?

(Come to think of it, I felt something pretty dangerous when I focused on that tree before...)

I'd forgotten even that until this very moment.

No, perhaps the tree had been making us think that way.

If that gigantic tree had a Skill that diverted people's attention from it, like Ichinose-san's "Recognition Interference," that would explain things.

(But why have those doubts and that unease resurfaced now...?)

Could it be an effect of having "evolved," after all...
