Preparing for the Decisive Battle

We had three days left until the decisive battle with Peony.

By coincidence, that was the same amount of time we'd had with Titan. Back then, too, the deadline for meeting the mayor's 'Safe Zone Expansion' condition had been three days away.

(...That was tough, too.)

I'd gone to the neighboring town with Fujita-san to ask the Self-Defense Forces for help, while Ichinose-san and Momo had raced around gathering materials to strengthen our weapons. Nishino-kun and the others had leveled up, too, and we'd all worked together to defeat Titan and Arpa. Even then, there was more we could have done, but the three-day time limit had kept us from acting as we'd wanted.

(But this time, it's even more brutal...)

After all, there was very little we could do this time.

Peony's vines clung all over the walls of the 'Safe Zone,' and if we so much as stepped outside carelessly, it would devour us at once.

(Peony's feeding range is insane... We can assume its roots and vines reach across the entire town.)

We couldn't hunt monsters to level up or properly restock our supplies.

We were trapped inside a cage called the 'Safe Zone,' unable to come and go freely...
