The monster with the writhing black body flung a hook at me.

I ignored the incoming hook, surged forward, wreathed my legs in aura, and kicked the monster's body.

That was all it took. The monster's body shattered into pieces, soon turning into light and disappearing.

“It's really only on the level of Floor 18.”

I shook off the dust on my armor—the only damage I'd taken during the battle—and collected the dropped items.

The defining feature of the monsters in the Floor 18 labyrinth area was that most of them were related to magic.

That was because the labyrinth itself was said to have been created when a workshop built by some mage mutated under the influence of something evil.

The detailed setting was neatly compiled on the community, but it wasn't particularly useful, so I hadn't read it.
