After confirming that the homunculus's corpse had turned into light and disappeared, I drank a potion.

The organs I'd deliberately damaged to activate [Indomitable] slowly recovered, and it didn't take long for me to return to normal condition.

I hadn't suffered many injuries or taken much damage during the battle, but it had been an exhausting fight—the first time in a while that I'd broken into a cold sweat.

“Cough, hack—ah, fuck, I'm coughing up intestines through my mouth.”

I spat out the fragments of my organs that had been ruined by the mana explosion and reviewed the battle from moments ago.

Immediately after piercing the homunculus's heart, I had deliberately swung my sword wildly in every direction, cutting its body into five pieces.

I'd taken that precaution after recalling how it had survived being struck by Asterios's axe, but in hindsight, it had been pointless.

Perhaps because it was classified as a monster rather than a challenger, it hadn't received the system's protective effect based on its remaining HP.

Well, if it could copy even the system's power, it would have been able to use the inventory, too. It was only natural, I suppose...
