[Destruction Gallery Wiki]
A new tab had appeared in the Gallery.
Gallery users naturally came flocking in, but fewer information posts went up than I had expected.
- How the hell do you use this?
- It's just blank.
Until now, the system had provided functions, and the Gallery users had been the ones to make use of them.
Giving them a blank slate and telling them to try something among themselves was unfamiliar.
“Assignments without a topic are always the most annoying.”
At this rate, it looked like the thing would sink instead of becoming active.
I had to encourage participation.
I thought for a moment, then wrote a new post.
[Topic: Ellard]
[Overview]
A forest where the Divine Tree has grown. All kinds of mysterious flora and fauna live there, and it is the most mana-rich place in the world.
Author) 1.13.187
- Ooh?
- Something appeared.
- Ah, okay, so this is how it works?
A record about Ellard, something everyone knew.
Using the Head Mod's authority, I created a new account and made it look as though someone had participated.
It was nothing special, but the Gallery users took an interest in the first post that had appeared.
But this wasn't enough.
I decided to pour a little oil on the fire.
[Drawbacks]
Pointy ears, self-proclaimed elves, live here. They destroy the ecosystem and almost killed even the Divine Tree. You could call them Ellard's greatest ear-parasites.
Author) 1.13.187
- Excuse me?
- Is this a declaration of war?
- Lol, fuck, that's a fact.
- He's beating the bones out of them lol.
- 137.7.32) (I admit that part is true emote)
And no sooner had my post gone up than a new topic was uploaded.
As expected, it was about humans.
[Topic: Humans]
[Overview]
An ugly species that mistakes itself for the world's dominant race. Cruel, pleasure-seeking, stupid, and short-lived, they are a short-lived species.
Author) Hot Elf
- You pointy-eared bastard?
- Does this guy not know what an overview is?
- He's just typing whatever the hell he wants.
- Lol, this is true!
- Peace restored^^
But if things continued like this, it was obvious that only emotionally charged posts would take over.
“Then the Destruction Gallery Wiki would be pointless.”
Otherwise, it would just be the usual Gallery shitposts moved into the Destruction Gallery Wiki tab.
So, just as certain gentlemen had done in the past, I quietly edited the information section of the Destruction Gallery Wiki.
[Topic: Humans]
[Overview]
This information post has been deleted.
[Hot Elf's Destruction Gallery Wiki activity suspended for 7 days]
Who am I? The god of stirring up division.
- Hot Elf) Head Mod oppa?
ㄴ Lol, this is what I'm talking about~
ㄴ Instant bonk!
ㄴ Ah lol, it's too hot, so go outside and cool off a little lol.
- T-this is tyranny!
- How can the Head Mod do this!
- (Elf stomping emote)
ㄴ Head Mod*) Posts that are overly emotional are deleted as a rule, okay?;
Naturally, the elves' arrows came flying at me.
If I left a reply pretending I couldn't help it at this point...
ㄴ B-but what about that Ellard post?!
“Enough.”
Exactly the response I had expected came back.
ㄴ Head Mod*) You can edit the information yourself if you want.
ㄴ Huh? It can be edited?
My role was over now.
An announcement? Terms of use?
Nobody reads things that boring.
Better to draw people in with a little bait and explain how to use it in an entertaining way.
As luck would have it, an example of its use appeared right away.
[Recently Edited – Ellard/Drawbacks]
Elves live here. They cherish the Divine Tree and prefer to live alongside nature.
Author) Fairies Save the World
- Phew.
- That's done. It's perfect now!
The fact that anyone could write meant that anyone could edit, too.
And just as the elves were beginning to relax, the Drawbacks section was edited again.
[Recently Edited – Ellard/Drawbacks]
Pointy ears, self-proclaimed elves, live here. They destroy the ecosystem and are also the Divine Tree's most dangerous pests.
This time, the content was even more extreme.
- W-who did it this time?!
- The Divine Tree's most dangerous pests?! Don't make things up!
- Head Mod, this is an emotional information post too!
ㄴ That's right! Why aren't you deleting this one?
The elves flew into a rage once again.
In particular, it was even more emotional than the previous overview of humans, but it wasn't penalized.
But this time, there was a reason.
ㄴ Head Mod*) Why would I penalize someone for editing their own information?
ㄴ Huh.
ㄴ Their own information? Don't tell me...
Author) 137.7.32
Because the editor was none other than the Divine Tree itself, 137.7.32.
- 137.7.32) (I'm gonna fucking kill you emote)
ㄴ Eek!
ㄴ Eeeek!
There had been similar sites in the previous world.
The problem was that they restricted people from editing their own information, while false information ran rampant.
Here, your username was recorded whenever you entered information.
- Then who's going to write anything?
- For real, there are no rewards, but there are penalties?
Of course, these concerns surfaced here as well.
I had a solution for this, too.
And while I prepared that solution, the Destruction Gallery Wiki was diligently updated and revised.
[Topic: Magic Beasts]
[Topic: Rifts]
.
.
Especially when it came to fields people encountered and cared about most closely, updates came quickly.
Was it because nearly all the Gallery users had gathered here?
It had only just begun, yet countless edit requests and reports came flying in.
- Head Mod, there's an information error here. Please fix it.
- What if someone lies and claims to be the subject?
- Ah; someone uploaded a tactical nuke, so please delete it, fuck;
- Head Mod! Someone uploaded elf porn!!!
ㄴ Head Mod*) Thanks.
ㄴ ?
The problem was that, compared to the sheer number of inquiries, I was only one person.
Of course, I did have my unpaid slaves, the assistant mods.
“That would be too much.”
Even though the assistant mods already helped manage the Gallery in exchange for nothing but canned tuna and other items, I couldn't make them do this too.
“Ah... Is there no one out there who would process the edit requests flying in every minute and second, for free, with the dedication and fairness they would show their own work?”
At this rate, even if I appointed dozens of administrators, there wouldn't be enough manpower.
But just then, a promising candidate appeared.
- 137.7.32) (Hand raised high emote)
ㄴ Head Mod*) Yeah, did you call?
ㄴ 137.7.32) (Chest-thumping emote)
The ancestor of the Destruction Gallery Wiki.
Namu, the representative of Tree Wiki.
The Divine Tree itself had volunteered to become an administrator.
*
One day after the Destruction Gallery Wiki tab was activated.
The Destruction Gallery Wiki was enjoying tremendous popularity.
Updates continued without pause, to the point that the number of concurrent users never fell below tens of thousands.
The fact that publishing books, once considered the domain of intellectuals and the privileged class, had become something anyone could do must have played a major role.
The influx of so many people soon led to information sharing about problems everyone had in common.
[Topic: The Black Death]
[Table of Contents]
1. Overview
2. Cases
3. Advantages
4. Drawbacks
5. Prevention Methods
- Thanks, Wiki Wagon!
- (I have arrived! Head emote)
ㄴ (I have arrived! Torso emote)
ㄴ (I'll cut down the trolls... emote)
ㄴ (I have arrived! Legs emote)
- I'm the Black Death, but I upvoted.
ㄴ Why the fuck did you upvote?
The Gallery doctors were given priority, especially in the Black Death prevention section.
As a result, incorrect information was corrected and pinned immediately.
This led to people becoming even more vigilant and putting greater effort into prevention.
And all of this was helped along by the World Tree's passionate wiki-editing.
Head Mod*: How's it going?
137.7.32: (The World Tree recommends this! emote)
Head Mod*: Thanks, thanks. It feels wrong to call it a reward, but if you need anything, I'll get it for you.
137.7.32: (Marry me right now. emote)
The World Tree had existed since the distant past and had lived buried in boredom and tedium.
But after recently learning about the Gallery, and now the Destruction Gallery Wiki, it had become addicted to wiki-editing.
Besides, it wasn't human, so it didn't need food or sleep.
It had become Wiki Wiki Wiki instead of Eat-Sleep Wiki.
The video function had also played a major role in activating the Destruction Gallery Wiki.
- Wait, it's actually moving?
- This is on a whole different level from a GIF.
- Fuck, why am I watching the process of making a sword?
Some users even began entering random topics and watching nothing but videos in a trance.
On top of that, videos weren't limited to the Wiki; they also worked in the Gallery itself.
Naturally, the number of lurkers fell, while all kinds of videos began to be uploaded more frequently.
- A cheerful view of a volcanic region
- A video of us exterminating the rats in my house
- A video of nothing but making a bow
[Title: Oh, Head Mod, Thank You!]
(Video of a rabbit beastman smiling bashfully, then winking)
(Video of rabbit beastmen farming a carrot field)
[Recommendations9999+] [Dislikes3]
- Wow haha.
- It's been a while since a post warmed my heart like this.
- You have such a kind heart.
- I want to be a carrot sticking out of that field.
- Please upload an image of you shyly clasping both hands to show off that sweet heart...
ㄴ (Serious-looking knight emote)
ㄴ This too is for Kellearton...
ㄴ Fuck, what meme is this supposed to be?
ㄴ It's hard to keep up...
- Head Mod*) Haha, I'm even more grateful.
ㄴ Lol, you never miss a post like this.
ㄴ (No lewd stuff! emote)
More than anything, it was nice to see battle scenes and other images that had felt lacking as memes get uploaded at length.
Once videos became familiar, though, we'd probably return to memes that were easier to watch again.
“It's fun, isn't it? Have a drink.”
Seeing the Gallery overflowing right now filled me with satisfaction.
But as always, people were diverse, and all sorts of problems were bound to be raised.
[Title: So, Do We Get Anything?]
It’s nice to have a new system, but...
Isn’t it ultimately just a place to store knowledge we already know?
With the Head Mod’s authority, couldn't they deliberately plant false information about certain things?
And is there any reward for uploading something?
Everyone else is blindly celebrating, but honestly, I'm a little suspicious of the Head Mod's intentions, yeah;
- Wow, seriously, even after being given a new system lol.
- Ah lol, it's just for you to play around with lol.
- Let's just ban this bastard from the Gallery.
- Sir, could you hold your breath for just five minutes?
In short, the point was that uploading information to the Destruction Gallery Wiki came with no rewards at all.
But I couldn't offer gyeongdan as a reward like this Gallery user was suggesting.
If I did, I was worried that things would somehow be twisted away from my original intent.
“Still, I do want to give the Gallery users who work hard on the Wiki something...”
Something that wasn't an excessive reward, but would provide a decent amount of motivation.
I had something in mind when I put the World Tree in charge of managing the Wiki.
Before the Destruction Gallery Wiki's popularity waned, I wrote a new announcement.
[Announcement: Hi]
Author: Head Mod*
I'm thinking of introducing new rankings to the Destruction Gallery Wiki.
1. User who enters the most information
2. User who writes the most-viewed information
3. User with the most GIFs and videos attached
And so on.
I'll give a small gift to Gallery users who meet those conditions.
1. 2 Golden Olive chickens
2. 30 250-ml cans of Coke Zero
3. 3 bulgogi burger sets
4. You can request something similar that you want.
Please show lots of interest.
“Well, this should be enough to serve as a modest incentive.”
I put together a selection of items that weren't listed in the Head Mod's Marketplace.
I figured this would attract a reasonable amount of attention.
And one hour after the announcement went up...
The Destruction Gallery Wiki began to explode with concurrent users.
