Eventually, I only stopped teasing him once Theo was on the verge of actually believing me.

Or maybe he’d already believed me, judging by how carefully he was cradling Orb in his hands.

Still, it wasn’t a lie, so it should be fine, right?

After that, I figured I should get Theo something to eat, so I tried to put my cooking skills to use for the first time in ages. But all we had at home was things like dried meat for storage, so I had no choice but to prepare him a relatively light meal.

But,

“You’re eating surprisingly well.”

I thought he’d have trouble eating it, but Theo was eating much better than I’d expected.

If anything, he seemed to be eating better than he did at the manor. Though the food here couldn’t possibly compare to what they served there.
