I was up early the next morning and asked the people at the Guesthouse for all sorts of unreasonable favors. In short, I wanted to get myself ready to meet the Emperor.

Apparently, those requests weren't particularly unreasonable for the people working at the Guesthouse, and they were happy to oblige.

I had my hair cut and applied Mimino-san's special hair product. When I asked whether there was a shop that rented high-quality clothes for an audience, I was told the Guesthouse already had some. And it was free! Wow, we really lucked out with this place.

"Hoooh... You don't look like an adventurer at all now."

"Is that a compliment?"

"Of course it is."

Once I was ready, Dantes-san gave me a wide grin.

My outfit resembled a tailcoat in form, but it was dark red, with what looked like embroidered patterns... Well, it was quite avant-garde. Apparently, though, the patterns were common in the pottery that was a traditional Refian craft.

(It's been a while since I've been in formal-dress mode. With clothes like these, you lose if you let yourself be overwhelmed by the occasion.)

I understood what this audience meant. The Emperor had probably already received our information, so he knew what he was getting into...
