The following morning, we decided to set out. If there was a road connecting the worlds at the "First Altar," we could reach it from here in less than a day.

The Dark Elves had once investigated La-Fitsa's trail for us, but apparently found nothing. Still, in what they called the "Surface World," there were old ruins around the Kurvaan Holy Kingdom, particularly near the Holy Capital, Kurvaigne, and considering the "First Altar," it wouldn't be strange if something were there.

The method of travel we were searching for might have been the same one La-Fitsa had once used.

We decided that the investigation party should be small, so it consisted of Nock-san, a centurion selected from among the Subterranean Humans, and me. Considering our travel speed, adding anyone else would only slow us down.

Asha still had an unconvinced look right up to the end, though...

I wanted her to stay behind as the leader of the Dark Elves, so it couldn't be helped. Still... after everything that had happened while I was away, I could understand why she felt, "You're leaving me behind again?"

Even so, I told her this was the last time.

If we found a path to the "Surface World" at the "First Altar," all of us could move there immediately...
