Side Story 119: The Painting (2)

Yes, I am ashamed to admit it, but my hobby is painting.

Or perhaps you could call it a fondness for painting despite my lack of skill. Even so, if one paints for long enough, the results become respectable.

My colleagues praised the paintings I made, so I gradually became carried away and even began displaying them in the mansion's hallways.

I wanted to bring at least a little change to a mansion that had been uneventful in the absence of its master.

Since having them there had become so commonplace, I carelessly forgot to take them down when Reiz-sama became the new master.

When Reiz-sama happened to visit and noticed them, he stopped me as I hurried to remove them.

"What is this? Did Kindall paint it? How surprising. I thought it was the work of a famous painter."

He said that and allowed me to leave it on display. He even added, "Whenever you paint something new, feel free to display it in the hallways."

From then on, whenever I had a day off, I painted the mansion's gardens and displayed the paintings in the hallways.

Because I changed where they were displayed according to the season, people eventually began referring to them by such names as the "Spring Hallway" and the "Summer Hallway." When Reiz-sama began using those names as well, I felt terribly uncomfortable...
