Nogerude and Palms, the two generals commanding the Ninth Knight Order, lashed out at those around them as an enemy force charged toward them from behind at incredible speed.

They'd been told that Rudek had no reinforcements, that there were collaborators inside the fort, and that the gate would be opened at the right moment so they could storm in and take the fort in one fell swoop.

That was what Nogerude had heard.

“Wouldn't this be a good opportunity to give the two of you, who will be entrusted with the Ninth Knight Order from now on, some distinction?”

They'd come this far at Lucifal's urging. Everything had gone according to plan until just moments ago. They couldn't understand how things had ended up like this.
