A dazzling light surged up through the gap between the steles jutting upward.

The sunlight reflected off the blade.

A moment later, a sword embedded upside down came into view.

“This was the sword wielded by a Grand Master who was my friend. It was the treasured sword of the owner of the memoir you’re holding, Jade. And now, it’s also one of the few divine swords left in the Middle Realm. It’s a weapon imbued with a god’s power. Just as a holy sword can only be used by someone who possesses holy power, a divine sword chooses its own master. You could call it a kind of ego sword.”
