It was not for nothing that the Fite Empire was called the Knight Empire, nor that the Saze Empire was called the Magic Empire.

Because each had its own secret arts and cultivated knights and mages better than anyone else, they were called the Knight Empire and the Magic Empire.

Of course, to defeat their old nemesis, the Fite Empire and the Saze Empire had secretly tried training mages and knights.

But the results had been poor.

The returns on their investments—in other words, their cost-effectiveness—had been far too poor, so the two empires returned to their original paths.

They decided to focus on what they did best.

That was why the Fite Empire was suspicious, though it honestly remained skeptical.

“Still, I think we should prepare.”

“Of course. We’ve discussed that with the Arhan Kingdom as well. We aren’t the only ones who suffered at the hands of the Black Knights.”
