"Did you finish?"
"Y-yeah. I allocated them like you said, but are you sure I don't need to learn any combat Skills?"
"No need, no need. 【Alchemist】 is a production Job, not a combat Job. If you want to do both, you should take the 【Battle Alchemist】 Job, but even then you'd be mediocre at both and have a hard time excelling. SP isn't infinite, so you're better off specializing and putting it all into production Skills."
I had Hannah allocate her stats first.
Luckily, Hannah hadn't spent any of her SP or SUP yet, either.
I explained my ultimate build and taught her how to develop an 【Alchemist】.
But I didn't force her.
This was an important decision that could shape her life, and it was ultimately up to Hannah to decide.
I could give her advice, but I couldn't very well ask her to throw away her life just to suit my plans.
However, Hannah decided to follow my ultimate build.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. I want to be useful to you, Zephyrus-kun."
What a wonderful thing to say. I almost fell for her.
But one look at Hannah's little-girl appearance brought me back to my senses.
"That's not the only reason, though."
When I asked, it turned out Hannah hadn't planned on exploring dungeons in the first place.
From Hannah's perspective, my ultimate build was ideal, since she could make a living solely through production if things went smoothly.
So I asked her why she'd changed her mind.
"Th-that's something you'll have to figure out for yourself, okay?"
She said it with a pout.
I'd already heard the answer, but decided to keep that to myself.
And here's how she allocated her stats.

Name: Hannah
Race: “Villager”
Job: 【Alchemist】 LV6
SUP (Status Up Points): 14P acquired in total
Restriction: 〈DEX+5〉
【HP 30/30】
【MP 20/20→80/80】
【STR 10】
【VIT 10】
【INT 10】
【RES 10→19】
【AGI 10】
【DEX 10→65】
【SUP 54P→0P】
【SP 11P→0P】
〈Skills〉
'Alchemy LV10' 'Synthesis LV1'
〈Magic〉
None
〈Unique Skills〉
Not acquired
――――――――――
The 【Alchemist】 Job awards 14 SUP (Status Up Points), five of which are automatically allocated to DEX. That leaves nine points for you to allocate yourself. At LV6, she had accumulated 54P.
She allocated those to DEX and MP, then RES.
For Skills, the standard choice is to spend 10 SP on 'Alchemy.'
A low Skill Level makes failures more likely, limits what you can make based on the rarity of the materials, and leaves you with fewer items you can create using 'Alchemy.' It's best to max it out early.
You can also make materials with 'Synthesis,' so the plan is to level that up and max it out as well.
This should do for now.
There are combat Skills like the one Hannah mentioned, too.
〈'Kettle Smite': whack them with your alchemy pot〉
I definitely don't need this.
Nope. Rejected. Don't underestimate STR.
The 【Alchemist】 Job really should be specialized for production.
Incidentally, you can check another person's status by touching a dragon statue made of crystal.
They must be fairly expensive, but there was one in every room of the Nobles' Residence, as if that were perfectly normal.
As for your own status, you can view it just by thinking, without using an item, and allocate your stats however you like.
You can do it anywhere.
Now that Hannah's finished, it's my turn.
The 【Hero】 Job has 26 total 〈Skills and Magic〉 it can learn, as well as two Unique Skills.
At the initial stage, you can learn ten 〈Skills and Magic〉 and one Unique Skill.
Here's the list.
――――――――――
'Body Enhancement'
'Danger Sense'
'Intuition'
'Everyday Magic'
'Slash'
'Rush'
'Lightning'
'Recovery'
'Healing'
'Appeal'
'Brave Slash' (Unique)
――――――――――
Skills are arranged in a tree. For example, raising 'Body Enhancement' to LV3 unlocks the next-tier Skills 'Double Strength' and 'Double Step.'
However, the next tier unlocks automatically when your Job reaches LV20, so you can just wait until then. There are three tiers, and reaching Job LV40 unlocks the third tier and every Skill, so the tree doesn't really matter much.
I guess it's probably recommended for people who want to use the strongest Skills at a low Level.
As you can see, the 【Hero】's Skills are versatile.
It has all sorts of things: self-buffs, magic, healing, attacks, and taunts.
I had to decide whether to learn a broad range of Skills or specialize, but I'd made up my mind long ago.

【STR 10→50】

【RES 10→20】

【DEX 10→12】
【SUP 132P→0P】

――――――――――
That's how I allocated my points.
The 【Hero】's strength lies in its all-around versatility, with no glaring weaknesses.
To develop it without sacrificing that strength, you should generally distribute your stats evenly.
The 【Hero】 has a passive Skill called 'Body Enhancement.' At LV10, it gives you a tremendous boost, multiplying every stat except HP and MP by 1.6.
In other words, it's almost the same as multiplying your SUP by 1.6. Even at LV5, it multiplies your stats by 1.3, so my STR is effectively 65.
Rather than specializing in one stat, developing them all evenly makes better use of 'Body Enhancement.'
That said, having more attack power is often useful, so for now I've put more into STR.
Still, any more attack power would be overkill against the monsters in the tutorial dungeon, so I stopped at 50 and distributed the rest evenly.
I'm not using magic yet, so I'll leave INT for another time. But going forward, I'll probably develop all my stats more or less evenly, including INT.
Next, Skills. 'Intuition' is a great Skill for dealing with ambushes and finding traps or hidden doors, so you should definitely acquire it.
'Appeal' is a taunt Skill. Since Hannah is coming along this time, I figured I should be the tank. And considering the future, it'll be useful for me to serve as a sub-tank, too, so it won't go to waste.
With Hannah's attack power, even LV1 should be enough to keep her from drawing aggro. I won't spend any more on it for now.
Still, I'd like to raise 'Appeal' to a decent Level later on.
And now, the star of the show.
The 【Hero】's Unique Skill: 'Brave Slash.'
〈That Hero's Sword will cut through all evil. Non-elemental, physical slash, debuff, single hit: deals 300% of your attack power as damage. Lowers defense.〉
It's simple, but an extremely powerful attack Skill.
At LV10, it deals 630% damage, but it devours MP, so I'll leave it at LV1 for now. Even at this level, it costs 15 MP, so I can't spam it.
The main reason I raised my MP to 140 despite not even learning any magic was 'Brave Slash.'
I don't plan on learning the other Skills. They're mostly things I won't use in the later stages.
I plan to get by with these four Skills until Job LV20.
All right, my stats are allocated and I'm ready to go.
I checked the clock. It was almost time.
"Hannah, let's get going."
"Yeah. Thanks for helping me figure out my stats, Zephyrus-kun. I'll do my best in the dungeon."
"Don't get too worked up, okay?"
Hannah seemed pretty fired up, but I'd be handling most of it, so I figured she'd probably be a little disappointed.
Well, whatever.
I can understand being excited about your first dungeon.
I picked up the sword and shield we'd received from the weapon and armor shops in 〈Nameless Beginning Village〉, and someone knocked on the door.
Looks like our ride's here.
It's been a long time coming, but we're finally going dungeon diving.
