This is bad, bad, bad!

Kyle of the Kashu Defense Force, one of Romelia's squad members, raced through the castle in Mikara Territory with Shuro, Jini, Rett, and Meryl, all of them frantic.

The situation was as bad as it could be. Just as they had successfully infiltrated the castle and begun preparing to rescue Mia, the Demon Army appeared from nowhere.

Fortunately, the Demon Army did not attack right away. The surrounding residents noticed it and even had time to flee into the castle.

The Roberk Alliance soldiers in and around the castle were thrown into an uproar, as if someone had poked a hornet's nest. Yet the enemy even waited for them to finish making their preparations.

Kyle understood exactly what they intended. He also understood the massacre that would follow...

Fortunately for Kyle, the soldiers inside were focused on the outside, while the villagers fleeing inside had thrown the castle into confusion. Even when the group was seen, no one paid them any attention.

Kyle and the others headed for the underground prison where Mia was being held.

When they reached the underground prison, they unlocked the cell and helped Mia, who had collapsed inside, to her feet.

"Mia-san, are you all right?"...
