A Proposal from Lewis Miller, the Magic Count in Charge of Personnel

Ten days after Elliot visited Monica's home, the previously scheduled meeting of the Seven Sages was held in the Emerald Room of Ridill Castle.

Isaac had returned to his territory shortly before Monica left Sutherland.

Nero had protested, "You're leaving me behind again?!" but Monica somehow managed to soothe him into staying behind in Sutherland.

She could have brought him if she were only attending the Seven Sages meeting, but afterward she was supposed to meet Elliot and Benjamin, who were in the capital, and travel with them to the town of Lanfield.

At today's meeting, Monica's upcoming magical offering at the festival was mentioned at the outset.

However, all Louis Miller, the 〈Barrier Mage〉, said about it was, "It's unusual for one of my fellow Sages to perform a magical offering."

There were many important matters on the agenda today. As a result, the other Seven Sages unusually refrained from idle chatter and followed the meeting led by Mary Harvey, the 〈Star-Reading Witch〉.

The people seated around the table, starting on the entrance side and proceeding clockwise, were the 〈Star-Reading Witch〉, the 〈Cannon Mage〉, the 〈Barrier Mage〉, the 〈Abyssal Curse Mage〉, the 〈Thorn Witch〉, and finally the 〈Silent Witch〉—Monica.

It was actually rare for all of them to gather in the Emerald Room outside of the New Year.

That was how important today's meeting was...
