Characters
Monica Everett
The Silent Witch, who made a move behind everyone's back.
She is desperately thinking up an excuse for when Cyril asks her about the glass bead she tucked into her pocket.
"My hand slipped... Hmm, that's not convincing... The wind did it... That's even less convincing..."
Cyril Ashley
The son of the Marquis of Hioon, who accomplished the feat of forming contracts with both a higher spirit renowned in legend and a legendary White Dragon at once, but regards it as nothing more than gaining another pet in need of discipline.
Now that his chronically chilly constitution has improved, he's secretly raring to go feed cats.
Later, he sent the Roseberg siblings a splendid piece of woven cloth. Naturally, he sent them work as well.
Melissa Roseberg
A really, really amazing big sister who can make magic potions, manipulate plants, and even summon the Spirit King.
"Summoning the Spirit King only works seventy percent of the time, but there's no need to mention that, right? A woman's got to have guts—guts."
Raul Roseberg
The fifth 〈Thorn Witch〉: seemingly oblivious, not actually oblivious, but a little oblivious.
The only one among the 〈Thorn Witches〉 from the second generation onward who can recreate the Man-Eating Rose Fortress—and a true genius.
Afraid of heights.
Ashelpike
An Ice higher spirit who continued the contract with Cyril.
They usually wonder whether they might as well stay in weasel form and pretend to be Cyril's scarf.
They think Cyril should get down and walk.
Toure
The White Dragon who lives on Mount Karug. Commonly known as the White Dragon of Karug.
By entering into a master-servant contract with Cyril and receiving a supply of mana, they managed to cling to life.
They think riding on Cyril's shoulder in weasel form is nice and easy.
They think Cyril should get down and walk.
Isaac Walker
A prince who's at a loss about all sorts of things.
Looking for friends to talk about romance with.
Nero
Worgan's Black Dragon, who made his debut at a masquerade ball.
Recognizes Yuan and Heidi as "the squiggly one and the eyebrows."
"Because that guy talked in a kind of squiggly way. And eyebrows are eyebrows."
Q: How old are the spirits?
The higher spirits who have appeared in this work don't remember their exact ages themselves.
For reference, from oldest to youngest: Ashelpike (Pique) > Rinsbellfeed (Lin) > Wildianu (Will). The older they are, the stronger they are.
Basically, human common sense doesn't apply to spirits.
That particular hopelessly incompetent maid is, at least, one of the spirits making an effort to get along with humans.
The youngest, Wildianu, understands human common sense best because Princess Aileen was a person of great character.
When Wildianu had only just contracted with Princess Aileen, they too pulled all sorts of clueless stunts.
Q: Will ○○ reappear?
The main characters in the main story are, for the most part, slated to reappear, though their roles may vary in size.
Several of them are already warming up.
For example, a certain musician who proudly holds first place in "The Ranking of Characters Whose Lines Are Hardest to Write."
Q: What will happen to Aike? Someone save Aike...! Isn't Aike too pitiful?!
He'll work really, really hard from here on, so please cheer him on.
Q: When will the missing Seventh Sage be found?
Runpappa-san, currently posted away from home, is searching for candidates while swearing up a storm.
The position is expected to be filled before Raul leaves to study abroad, so please wait a little longer.
