Vol. 12 Ch. 6: The Theoretical and the Intuitive

When Glen had only just been taken in by 〈Barrier Mage〉 Louis Miller and become his apprentice, he was not enthusiastic about training in magic.

Before Louis took him in, Glen had let his magic run wild and left Minerva's school buildings half-destroyed.

What if he did the same thing again? What if his magic ran wild again and people were killed or injured this time?

Just imagining it made his body seize up, and he could not even consider using magic.

So Glen honestly told Louis how he felt.

"...I don't wanna study magic."

Knowing full well that he would be berated, Glen poured out everything in his heart.

He was afraid of failing again. He was afraid of hurting someone. He was truly sick and tired of magic.

Then Louis said in a surprisingly casual tone,

"Ah, well, that's fortunate."...
