Vol. 12 Ch. 8: A Fourteen-Year-Old's Acting Skills

Recently, there hasn't been all that much work for the student council. Things would get busy around the time of the student assembly two months from now, but until then, they were enjoying a leisurely stretch of days. Even now, only Felix and Monica were in the student council room.

Monica had become completely accustomed to her student council duties, so these days, after putting away a few documents, she quickly ran out of things to do.

Once today's work reached a stopping point, Monica had secretly decided to go to the library. Recently, whenever she had free time, Monica went to the library to help Glen study.

She wanted to be of assistance to him as a friend, and Monica herself had wanted to study tracking formulas for some time. So, while breaking down and explaining the formula to Glen, Monica also analyzed the tracking formula. Even now, as she put away the treasurer's notes, Monica was thinking about the tracking formula she was still working on.

(The tracking formula lasts roughly two seconds... That's the time it takes for an attack spell fired at average speed to hit a target at a certain distance, but if I could extend that duration, it would become even more useful...)

"Monica."

(To do that, I need to balance how accurately the target can be identified with the formula's duration... First, I should establish the tracking formula's effective range, then test how well it tracks within that range...)

"Say ahh."

As she concentrated on the formula, something soft pressed against her lips. A faintly toasty scent of butter and raisins tickled her nose.

(If the effective range is set to the area of effect of a first-class Intermediate Spell... the flavor of raisins and scent of butter are calculated from the range and coordinate axes... These raisins are delicious...)...
