Little Orange Doesn’t Want to See Jiang Zhou’s Face

“Young Master, one of the guys at the hospital called. He said Mr. Chen is awake.” The black-clad bodyguard handed over the phone, glancing at the man on the ground. The older man was curled up, his whole body twitching in pain. His screams had dwindled to little more than labored breaths.

“Mm.” Jiang Zhou pulled off the white gloves stained with blood and tossed them onto Chen Wei. Taking the phone, he said calmly, “Get him a private doctor. Don’t let him die.”

“Yes, Young Master,” the bodyguard hurriedly replied.

Jiang Zhou walked out of the run-down storeroom and said into the phone, “What’s his condition now?”

“Reporting to you, Young Master, Mr. Chen is doing all right. He just doesn’t seem to like hospitals and has already asked me several times when he can be discharged,” the bodyguard on the other end replied.

Jiang Zhou frowned and said quietly, “Then go take care of the discharge paperwork. I’ll be there soon.”

“Yes, Young Master,” the bodyguard said respectfully.

In the hospital room.

When Chen Ju woke up, he found himself alone in the room. Jiang Zhou wasn’t there, and a faint sense of disappointment rose in his heart. His chest was bandaged, and now that the anesthesia had worn off, even the slightest movement hurt terribly.

He wanted to get up to use the bathroom. After several attempts, he slowly managed to sit up by holding on to the edge of the bed. The call button was beside him; he could press it to have a nurse come help, but Chen Ju felt too embarrassed to bother anyone...
