A Scolding

“Uh... Won’t we get demerits? Aren’t you going to report us to the Academic Affairs Office...?”

Kairen, too, wiped away his cold sweat and asked cautiously, looking incredulous.

Haley gave a faint chuckle and shook her head.

“If I’m that strict from the very first day, how will students ever manage to attend the Academy? I won’t give you any demerits, so just come over here quietly and follow me for now.”

Without asking anything further, Haley turned toward the firmly shut door of Radians’s lab behind her.

“Now, don’t make a sound. Take a look inside through this crack.”

Haley led the two of them to the door of Radians’s lab.

Then she turned the brass handle with extreme care and opened the door just a sliver, without so much as a creak.

Elisia and Kairen swallowed nervously and peered into the lab, following the faint moonlight spilling through the narrow gap.
