Post-Lunch Drowsiness

Afternoon sunlight poured through the classroom windows, soft and languid.

The lecture currently underway was <Imperial History>.

In an ordinary history lecture, memorizing dates was a given, along with the names of tedious treaties.

To make matters worse, it was the first lecture of the afternoon, right after lunch.

So it was only natural that more than half the students were nodding off.

But the atmosphere in the lecture hall was different today.

Especially my own attitude, though I was—as always, thanks to my size—crammed into a corner of the back row.

‘This is interesting... Really interesting.’

Resting my chin on my hand, I watched the lectern without blinking once.
