Grand Duke Caron and Crown Prince Dias stood holding training weapons.

This was the arena in one corner of the palace.

It had been built for the Imperial family to train and hold matches, and Dias and Riana often used it.

Grand Duke Caron and Crown Prince Dias stamped their feet and checked their footing. The arena floor was made of packed earth.

It was circular.

Simple spectator stands had been set up around it.

The spectators seated there were high officials and the princes and princesses Dias had invited.

The person seated in the highest section was the current Emperor──Dias's father.
