──More than ten days later, in the Imperial capital──

"The operation was a failure. Your role is over, Count Varga Reegas."

"──What!?"

This was the residence of Zagrang, the Imperial Minister of Military Affairs, in the Imperial capital.

In one of its rooms, Zagrang was meeting with Count Varga Reegas.

Having concluded the operation to subjugate 'Magical Beast Galgarossa' in the Demon Lord's Territory, Zagrang had returned to the Imperial capital.

When he returned to his residence, he had received a letter from Count Varga Reegas requesting an audience.

And so Zagrang had summoned him to the residence.

Varga Reegas had appeared wearing noble attire and a splendid cloak.

He hardly looked like a man about to set off on an expedition to the south...
