Chapter 15: The Tale of Typhon - (4)
Mount Olympus, the divine palace high above the clouds.
Typhon, who had been lying down enjoying his victory, found it strange that Cadmus hadn't returned.
He had offered to grant him a goddess in exchange for playing the lyre by his side.
Could he have run away?
No human would refuse the reward of being able to embrace a goddess.
It might be Zeus's scheme.
After pondering for a moment, Typhon was about to call his monster subordinate Delphyne to order her to find the insolent human.
If only it weren't for the numerous divine powers approaching from afar.
"Are those small fry coming to challenge me again?"
Even if the gods who had fled gathered, it would be useless...
"Typhon! I have returned!"
Zeus holding Astrape on the black clouds?
I definitely cut his sinews... That damn human!
As Typhon hurriedly rose, black clouds gathered above his head and poured down fierce lightning.
Flash- Boom!
"Arghhhh!"
It hurts.
It hurts too much.
It feels like my whole body is burning up.
Was lightning, which should have ended with just a sting, ever this painful?
Typhon gritted his teeth at the power of Zeus's lightning strikes.
Surely it wasn't this strong when he ambushed Olympus.
It's because of that strange fruit those cursed old hags, the Moirai, gave me!
"I won't be careless now. Let's see who's fit to be the chief god!"
In Zeus's hand, having regained his stolen sinews, destructive blue lightning flashed, displaying its power.
A resounding battle cry burst from his mouth as Astrape was fired once again.
"Arghhhh!"
Typhon didn't just stand still either.
He, the god of storms, unleashed winds fierce enough to crumble even high mountains, devastating everything around.
Zeus's lightning was painful, but not enough to kill the weakened Typhon in one blow.
A giant hand wrapped in gales flies towards Zeus, reaching out fiercely.
If he could just grab and crush the king of gods...
'If I can just subdue Zeus, the others are nothing.'
As Typhon thought this, a sweet voice reached his ears.
"Hey, can you look here for a moment?"
A small, faint voice from the ground.
But at the irresistibly charming voice, Typhon's attention was momentarily diverted, and his gaze turned downward.
A beautifully adorned beauty, Aphrodite, smiles brightly as she meets Typhon's eyes.
The goddess of beauty's full-power charm caused the outstretched hand to lose its momentum.
"Zeus! I suppose it doesn't matter if Mount Olympus gets a bit damaged!"
"Move instead of talking, Poseidon!"
"Then I won't hold back!"
A blue-haired male god raises his trident high and thrusts it towards the earth with all his might.
As the power of Triaena, the masterpiece of the Cyclops brothers, manifests, the ground shakes violently, and the entire mountain trembles.
"Earth, shake. Reveal your inner flesh to me."
Demeter places her hand on the ground with a coldly calm voice.
An earthquake assisted by Demeter, the goddess of the earth.
The ground splits randomly, making it difficult for Typhon to move and disrupting his balance.
Then Hestia's power warmly envelops the gods, and fierce flames rise from the hammer of Hephaestus, god of fire and smithing, burning everything.
A battle of the gods where storms rage strong enough to blow trees around like dust, and the earth bursts open.
Mount Olympus was gradually losing its shape.
***
Some distance from Mount Olympus, human cities faced a great calamity.
Flash- Boom!
Thunder continued to roar from the sky, and a massive earthquake shook the ground violently.
As buildings collapsed and storms raged, people cried out to the gods.
"Aaaaah! Zeus! What have we done wrong!"
"This earthquake must be Poseidon's punishment! Did we offer sacrifices to the sea on time?"
"Kyaaah! Save us!"
Rumble rumble-
People desperately fled the city, but some prayed at the temples of the Olympian gods.
Hoping that whichever god it was would hear their prayers and calm their anger.
Boom!
Once again, thunder and storms raged, collapsing buildings.
"This... this is strange. The gods wouldn't punish us like this!"
The priest of Demeter residing in the city clearly felt something was amiss.
The disasters that had occurred so far included thunder and lightning, heavy rain and earthquakes, and fierce gales.
This is not power that a single god could possess.
But it would be enough power for one god to destroy this city.
"Could it be that the gods are fighting among themselves?"
The mortals soon realize.
This is merely the aftermath of a fight, like crumbs falling while eating bread or fragments flying while mining metal.
The true disaster is happening on Mount Olympus.
***
"Ahahahaha! War! It's war!"
Red divine power rises like a storm from Ares' entire body.
The divine horses of his prized chariot snort fiercely as they gallop through the air.
The god of war laughs maniacally as he charges with his chariot.
His target is the monster's face; it doesn't matter if his attack doesn't wound.
Unlike before when he only smelled defeat, now he felt the melody of victory was not far off.
"You... you vermin!"
Typhon, who had been mercilessly beaten by the gods' joint attack, rages and swings his hands wildly,
Once again, terrible traces of destruction are engraved on the world.
Ares' chariot, which had been charging bravely, is smashed, and he is flung mercilessly, crashing into a mountain.
"Ares!"
Even the clouds that had been floating leisurely are scattered, and the stars in the sky climb higher, fearing Typhon.
Even the horses of Helios' sun chariot are startled and flee higher into the sky.
In the gradually darkening sky, Zeus's lightning and Hephaestus's fire brightly illuminate the world.
Boom!
"Arghhhh!"
Once again, blue thunder strikes Typhon's body, causing smoke to rise and inflicting terrible pain,
As Typhon howls in pain, shining arrows successively pierce his eyes.
"I'll aim for the right eye. You take the left eye!"
"The next prey is a big one, brother."
Apollo, the god of the sun, and Artemis, the goddess of the moon.
These two children of the chief god Zeus each shoot arrows imbued with the power of the sun and moon.
These twin gods, children of the chief god Zeus and Leto, the goddess of motherhood, are both excellent archers with the divine status of archery.
Their arrows never miss.
Then, the hot flames of the smith god engulf Typhon's body, and the heavily armed goddess of wisdom strikes the monster's ankle.
The Olympian gods' joint attack continues in succession, but...
"If it weren't for those Moirai bastards' tricks, you would have fallen long ago!"
The monster is still going strong.
Clearly, the Olympian gods had the upper hand, but Typhon was Gaia's ultimate weapon, created with all her might.
Though tired and injured, he doesn't fall easily.
Seeing Typhon still standing strong despite the continuous battle, the sea god decides to use his full power.
If he could submerge him deep in the sea, even an immortal monster would...
"Ugh. That monster... Surge, waves..."
"Poseidon! If you call the waves, all the humans on land will die!"
Hestia hurriedly stops Poseidon, who was trying to summon a massive tsunami to the land to defeat Typhon.
The Olympian gods clearly have the upper hand, so they can win without sacrificing the lives on earth.
"No, then how long do we..."
"If you wait just a bit longer, a variable will occur!"
Athena shouts while dodging Typhon's kick, but Poseidon sighs in frustration.
Typhon, too, is immortal like the gods. Judging by his ability to control raging winds, he must have the divine status of storms.
Although the three goddesses of fate had tricked Typhon and weakened him, only Zeus or Poseidon could still inflict significant damage on him.
His incredible vitality instantly regenerates and recovers from any wound not inflicted by the powerful force of one of the Big Three.
"Hahaha! Except for you two, the rest are all vermin... Ugh!"
At that moment, a pitch-black and ominous slash flew towards Typhon, who was laughing off Hera's attack.
Although Typhon hurriedly raised his arm to block, the god's blood, ichor, flowed from his body.
The golden liquid spills onto the earth, revealing the wound of the storm god.
This level of power... much weaker than Zeus, but similar to when directly hit by Poseidon's trident.
Typhon turned his head towards the direction the slash came from, noticing the new variable on the battlefield.
Someone walking with a chilling killing intent from a distance away.
A black-haired male god holding an old, shabby helmet and a giant sickle.
"...Hades!"
"Uncle has succeeded. Now it's over for that monster."
That sickle is Schythe, which Typhon had stolen from Zeus and secretly hidden!
The strongest weapon made of adamant is threatening even to Typhon.
"This is the judgment of Hades, king of the underworld, one of the Big Three who rule the world. Listen carefully, monster."
The gloomy-looking god continues speaking as he brings the helmet to his head.
"You will be thrown into Tartarus for eternity."
As the king of the underworld fully dons his helmet,
Typhon, who had been able to detect even Hermes boasting the fastest speed in Olympus, completely lost sight of him.
