While wandering the streets, I spotted a shop window that caught my eye.
“Ah, that looks like you, Puppy.”
ㅡBeep....
“Heehee. I’m kidding.”
It was a somewhat old-looking doll shop. Beyond the wide glass window, bear, pig, and human dolls were on display. Come to think of it, there was a gigantic bear plush at home that Chaea unnie had given me, and maybe that was why sleeping had felt a little empty lately.
When I said the pig doll lying belly-up with its stomach exposed looked like Puppy, Puppy pressed its front paws down on my head. What a cute little thing.
“Doesn’t it feel like a picture book? A doll shop—these still exist nowadays?”
After staring at it for a while, I caught the eye of the grandfather sewing a doll from the cashier’s chair inside the shop. He had a big red nose, white hair, and round, square-framed black glasses.
He looked exactly like the sort of grandpa who’d make a Pinocchio and then get caught up in some incident...
