Like any festival, a university festival has a set timetable.

Normally, an event can proceed smoothly only if the invited singers leave at the appointed time, but there are exceptions.

Specifically, when you're the final act on the timetable.

With no one after you and an audience made up of energetic college students, there was no problem performing for as long as you liked.

With an ordinary singer's stage, however, the audience's response tended to weaken as they sang more songs.

That was because hit songs were usually placed toward the front, so even if they sang encore songs afterward, not many people would know them.

Once the audience's response dropped and people started leaving, the singer onstage inevitably lost energy as well.

Usually, one ended the stage at an appropriate point and sent everyone home, but…
