148 A Chance Encounter

Actually, it would be a little hard to say that Blue Sky Entertainment's management had nothing to do with me at all.

That was because of who I was and the unusual nature of the contract resulting from it.

I was both a producer and an artist.

That meant the contracts for those two roles differed slightly.

As an artist, my contract was no different from a standard exclusive contract, but my producer's contract was somewhat unusual.

Rather than receiving much of a base salary, I got performance bonuses and a small stake in Blue Sky Entertainment.

Naturally, the stake had been worth little more than scrap paper when I received it.

Blue Sky Entertainment's value had been close to zero at the time.

So this stake was meant as encouragement? As a show of support?

It would be fair to say it was something along those lines...
