555. Anonymous Defender
This is my first time acting alongside monster players.
I'm a little nervous lol
556. Anonymous Defender
There should be plenty of rare metals in a mining city, right?
We might be able to upgrade our equipment.
557. Anonymous Defender
>>555 They may look vicious on the outside, but they're players underneath, so there's no need to be on guard.
558. Anonymous Defender
There's a limit on the items we can bring, huh?
What should I take with me?
559. Anonymous Defender
>>555 Honestly, the demons wearing human skin—the PKers—are scarier.
I've heard there's even a Job exclusively for PKers, so the only truly safe place is inside the city.
560. Anonymous Defender
Is the lack of advance information intentional?
Isn't that kind of unfriendly to the users?
561. Anonymous Defender
>>556 They seem to be materials for the ridiculously expensive equipment sold in Fars and Sekan, so I think it's fair to be excited.
562. Anonymous Defender
Ilevs, the setting for the event, is a city in the Kingdom of Lichtesburg, which discriminates against anyone who isn't human, right?
Won't monster players be discriminated against?
563. Anonymous Defender
>>559 I've heard the PKers have formed a large clan too, so they're pretty scary.
Rumor has it they've even recruited production Jobs, and their equipment is on par with the front line.
564. Anonymous Defender
I don't care what happens, as long as I make a huge profit. It's an event, after all.
565. Anonymous Defender
Since it's a defensive battle, players who are mages or have ranged attacks should be able to shine.
566. Anonymous Defender
>>558 Potions and antidotes are essential, right?
After that, just bring whatever you prefer.
567. Anonymous Defender
I looked it up in the library, and Ilevs seems to be at the northern edge of the kingdom.
From Fars, it seems to be somewhere you reach by walking along the forest to the north.
568. Anonymous Defender
>>567 That's what the map says, but apparently there's an area that's constantly shrouded in fog, so heading there directly would be suicide.
This came from the guild, so it's definitely reliable.
569. Anonymous Defender
>>568 Seriously? Have you heard the recommended level?
570. Anonymous Defender
>>569 Yeah, I have.
According to the guild, level 70 or higher is recommended.
571. Anonymous Defender
>>570 lol
572. Anonymous Defender
>>570 That's way too high!
573. Anonymous Defender
>>570 What kind of monsters are there? lol
574. Anonymous Defender
>>570 The strategy group isn't even level 50 yet, right?
They're twenty levels higher than us! They're not planning to let us take a shortcut at all!
575. Anonymous Defender
But is it really okay to have a place with a recommended level of 70 on the First Continent?
576. Anonymous Defender
>>575 This is off-topic, but I'll explain. This game is a virtual world created by the WSS, the World Simulation System.
So it isn't like a retro game where enemy mobs conveniently grow stronger little by little. Just because it's the continent with the first village doesn't mean only weak mobs will appear.
577. Anonymous Defender
Continuation of 576
So sometimes there are fields where mobs vastly stronger than everything around them have taken up residence. They're territories ruled by insanely strong mobs that don't attack NPCs on their own, but can't be driven out by anyone with mediocre skill. The foggy area is one of those places.
578. Anonymous Defender
>>577 Huh, I had no idea.
579. Anonymous Defender
>>577 So does that mean it wouldn't be strange for there to be a level 100 monster on this continent too?
580. Anonymous Defender
>>579 Exactly. Besides, Fars is at the western edge of the lands inhabited by humanity. It's considered a remote backwater.
Apparently, there are strong mobs beyond the northern mountains and deep in the western forest. The reason there are only weak mobs around Fars is that they keep their distance from the territories of the strong ones in the hinterlands.
As a result, enemy strength conveniently increases as you go farther out, so I guess it doesn't cause any problems from a game-design perspective?
581. Anonymous Defender
>>580 On the other hand, the closer you get to a prosperous city, the fewer profitable monsters there are.
Anyway, let's get back to discussing the event. Somehow we've turned this into a worldbuilding thread.
582. Anonymous Defender
>>580 Yeah. I learned something, at least.
583. Anonymous Defender
Speaking of worldbuilding, what is the Guaranteed Killer who protects the city doing?
It should be able to repel a monster attack without breaking a sweat, right?
584. Anonymous Defender
>>581 According to the resident adventurers, there's a rumor that monster cities and countries exist.
Depending on the monsters, we'd probably lose a war against them lol
585. Anonymous Defender
>>583 Unfortunately, to be precise, the Guaranteed Killer is the 'Guaranteed Killer of Criminal Players.'
According to the setting, we're otherworlders invited here by the goddess. We operate using temporary bodies, so a player's wrongdoing is considered a failure on the goddess's part.
Therefore, the Guaranteed Killer is a mechanism for condemning players' crimes, and has nothing to do with conflicts between human and monster NPCs!
586. Anonymous Defender
Continuation of 585
To add a little more, for the Guaranteed Killer, a city means 'the area enclosed by city walls.' So if the gates or walls are destroyed, it stops operating. Once that happens, anything goes.
This means players can attack cities. The admins won't tolerate petty crimes inside a city, but they probably think it's fine to cause a major incident like occupying one.
587. Anonymous Defender
>>586 What the hell? That's terrifying.
588. Anonymous Defender
>>586 Uh... what? (Confused)
589. Anonymous Defender
>>586 So starting a war is possible, then. φ(..)
590. Anonymous Defender
>>586 That's way too scary!
591. Anonymous Defender
>>589 Reported.

89. Erika
Ahh... my little one is so cute...
Here: [image][image]
90. Oil Gourd
Beast-type monsters are popular as expected, but could we get some more reptile enthusiasts?
91. Ororon
>>89 Ahh^~, they're so cute~ They're healing me~
92. Bobby
I heard from a resident tamer the other day that our tamed companions can apparently be revived as long as their corpses are properly recovered.
I'm not planning to let them die that easily, but knowing there's a safety net makes me feel a little more relaxed.
93. Erika
>>92 Just in case, I've already acquired 【Healing Arts】, so I have no openings.
94. Xiaolongbao
>>93 Did you take a priest-type Job just for 【Healing Arts】? lol
As expected of you!
95. Extra-Large Student
>>93 Oh, Erika-san, you're already over level 40.
The strongest Tamer really is on another level.
96. Erika
>>95 I won't spare any effort to spend even one second longer with these little ones.
97. Kite Pot
>>90 I'm fond of reptiles too. Amphibians as well.
Come to think of it, can we tame insects and plants? I haven't heard of anyone doing it.
98. Oil Gourd
>>97 Now that you mention it, I haven't heard anything either. Hasn't anyone tried?
99. Mountain Sheep
>>97 I wouldn't know.
100. Piledriver
>>97 No idea.
101. Ororon
>>97 ┐('~`;)┌
102. Erika
>>97 I'm not interested in anything except fluffy creatures.
103. Bobby
>>102 You really never waver, do you? lol
Putting that aside, insects and plants aren't impossible to tame, but it seems there are some conditions. The resident who told me about revival said that Jobs called Insect Tamer and Plant Tamer are rumored to exist.
But the conditions are completely unknown. They're probably so-called hidden Jobs.
104. Extra-Large Student
>>103 Thanks for the information!
I never imagined Tamers had hidden elements too... I had somehow assumed that only major Jobs like swordsman and mage had things like that.
105. Kite Pot
>>103 Conditions, huh?
For plants, something like 【Agriculture】 seems suspicious. It involves taking care of plants, after all.
As for insects... what could it be? Maybe using pheromones?
106. Xiaolongbao
>>105 Pheromones? That sounds plausible enough to be scary!
How are you even supposed to handle that? Is there a Skill for controlling smells?
107. Mountain Sheep
This is purely out of curiosity, but can zombies and other undead be tamed?
108. Ororon
>>107 Part of me wants that to be impossible, and part of me doesn't lol
More importantly, look at this! What do you think?
Here: [image][image]
109. Piledriver
>>108 A collar with an effect...?!
110. Oil Gourd
>>108 Wooooooooow!?
111. Erika
>>108 Here: [image][image][image]
112. Ororon
>>111 I knew you had one too lol
It's an item you can have made at 'Heart's Refreshment,' a members-only specialty pet-supply shop in the merchant city of Sekan. They don't accept walk-ins, and they'll turn you away at the door without a letter of introduction.
They make fully custom, stylish accessories perfectly suited to the client's pet. Apparently, they can also make clothes, armor, and anklets if you ask.
113. Kitagawa
>>112 Hey, we're friends, right?
114. Mountain Sheep
>>113 Keeping secrets isn't good, brother.
115. Extra-Large Student
>>112 Please introduce me! I'll do anything!
116. Kite Pot
>>115 Hm?
117. Xiaolongbao
>>115 Hm?
118. Bobby
>>115 Hm?
119. Ororon
>>115 Hm? You just said you'd do anything, right?
Putting the jokes aside, I guess an introduction is out of the question.
To be clear, it's not because I'm being mean; I don't have the authority to make introductions.
120. Erika
Only senior members approved by the shop are allowed to write letters of introduction.
Furthermore, any member who writes a letter for someone unworthy of membership will be expelled. So I can only give letters to people I truly trust.
At the very least, I can't introduce someone I've never even spoken to face-to-face.
121. Oil Gourd
Oh, I see. Well, that's understandable.
122. Hikko
Then at least tell us about the resident who introduced you...!
123. Erika
>>122 Apparently, letters of introduction can't be written without limit.
Once you've written a letter, you can't write another until the shop has finished determining whether the person you introduced is trustworthy.
124. Bobby
>>123 So they don't want people bringing in a bunch of customers who would lower the shop's prestige.
They sure act high and mighty.
125. Xiaolongbao
>>124 That just means it's worth that much, right? It probably costs a lot too.
126. Ororon
>>125 Exactly. In my case, one piece of equipment wiped out 80 percent of my assets.
Being a Tamer is fairly profitable since you're one player with a group of monster companions, so you can take all the quest fees for yourself, but...
127. Kite Pot
>>127 In the end, you'll have to gather high-end equipment for your companions too, so I can see a future where no amount of money will be enough.
128. Extra-Large Student
I need to start thinking about ways to make money now (out of a sense of duty).
