The angel began explaining the exhibition event. Today would mark the end of 'A Wonderful Aspect of Autumn: Action,' but separately, players would be able to fight Heroic Spirits in the arena for the next twenty-four hours.
As for what exactly a Heroic Spirit was, an explanation could be found in the exhibition event menu. In short, they were apparently what especially capable fighters among the goddesses' believers became after death.
Only a select few among the many believers were said to attain that state, and their strength was supposedly extraordinary. They might even be stronger than Jigoro or Genzou.
Because they were chosen for their combat ability, there were apparently mages and the like in addition to warriors. No matter how strong someone was, they could not become a Heroic Spirit if their faith was too weak. They practically carried their goddess's banner, so that made sense.
The number of Heroic Spirits each goddess had under her command differed from goddess to goddess. Gulnare-sama, the Goddess of War and Victory, had the most, partly because her domain was related to battle. Conversely, the goddess with the fewest was Iifa-sama, the Goddess of Death and Chaos, who had granted me her blessing. I assumed that was simply because she had fewer believers. Hmm, once things settled down, perhaps we should build a splendid temple to Iifa-sama in our city?
"You can challenge it as an individual or as a party, and keep trying as many times as you like until you clear it... You clear it by fulfilling specific conditions. The reward is either a replica item with the same effects as the one equipped by the Heroic Spirit, or a Skill with weakened effects, huh? We're obviously going to challenge it, but what kind of members should we take?"
Given the rewards, not challenging the event was not an option. However, everyone except Jigoro was here at the moment. Some of us would want to form parties, like me, while others might want to challenge it alone. At the very least, Jigoro and Genzou would almost certainly challenge it individually. There had to be others who wanted to fight powerful opponents one-on-one as well.
There was no limit on the number of attempts, so we might have to keep challenging it patiently no matter how many times we failed. However, once we cleared it, we could not challenge it again. By the time we decided we wanted to change parties, our other companions might already have cleared it. We should think carefully about our parties and avoid making overly lopsided combinations.
"Other than those challenging it alone, we can just make reasonably balanced parties, right?"
"Genzou-san, are you going alone after all?"...
