The Next Event and Rin's Special Training

"Oh? What's this...?"

The day after the event 'A Wonderful Aspect of Autumn: Action' ended, I logged in to find a new notification. It concerned the event 'A Wonderful Aspect of Autumn: Beauty,' which would begin today.

This appeared to be a fairly long-running event, lasting two months from today. It involved posting in-game images captured as screenshots. After appetite and exercise, this one seemed to be about the artistic side of autumn.

The posting procedure was extremely simple. You just gave an image a title, chose one of roughly a dozen genres, and submitted it under that genre. Anyone could view the images, and they would apparently remain even after the event ended, so it was not as though they could be seen only now.

Players who viewed an image could rate it out of five. Each view added one point, and the competition was based on the combined total of the ratings given by other players and the scores awarded by the Twelve Goddesses out of 100.

The score rankings would always be public, and various rewards could apparently be obtained according to one's final ranking. Players who knew scenic locations or were lucky enough to find something that appealed to people's sensibilities would probably reach the higher ranks.

A player could post as many images as they liked, but each image's score was independent. Posting several images did not mean their combined total would become the poster's score. Posting a large number of mediocre images would be pointless.

However, that also meant that multiple images taken by the same player could appear in the rankings. In that case, the reward would apparently be limited to the one for the highest-ranked image. Naturally, the rewards would not overlap.

Giving high scores to other players' images would lower one's own ranking, but apparently that was left to the players' consciences. They would apparently receive a low-rarity consumable item after awarding a certain number of points, but... someone seriously aiming for first place might refuse to award points no matter how good an image seemed.

I had no intention of winning, so I planned to award points freely whenever I found an image I liked. Perhaps there were more players who thought the same way than I expected...
