475. Anonymous Human
So, in the end, that guy decided not to play as a monster.
476. Anonymous Dwarf
>>475 That was a wise decision.
477. Anonymous Human
>>475 My real-life friend said he was definitely going to play as a monster, though.
478. Anonymous Human
It's not like you'll necessarily be able to take on the same appearance as the boss from that event.
479. Anonymous Beastman
It'd really liven things up if that bro who pioneered playing as a monster and gave us information ages ago showed up again.
480. Anonymous Human
>>479 No, no. That survey for the Second Wave a little while ago said thirty percent planned to choose monsters. It's lively enough already.
481. Anonymous Forestfolk
Breaking news!
The Temple of Aruru is apparently offering a special reward to anyone who defeats an unfamiliar monster in this area!
482. Anonymous Human
>>481 Whaaaaaaaaat!?
483. Anonymous Forestfolk
>>481 Is that for real!?
484. Anonymous Dwarf
>>481 That's so ridiculously specific I'm dying.
485. Anonymous Human
>>481 So is that basically encouraging 'new player hunting'?
486. Anonymous Forestfolk
>>485 Probably. Apparently the temple received a divine oracle.
487. Anonymous Human
An oracle? From that little-girl-looking fanatic saint?
488. Anonymous Forestfolk
>>487 Yep.
Apparently Aruru sent word that, 'Monsters are going to increase, so hunt them actively, even if they're weak.'
Apparently it'll be officially posted as a quest at the Adventurers' Guild soon, too.
489. Anonymous Human
I don't really get it.
The administrators keep flip-flopping on whether they want more monster players or not.
490. Anonymous Dwarf
>>489 About that, I went to the Twelve Great Temples yesterday and heard that story. There was something interesting in it. It's going to be long, but is that okay?
491. Anonymous Human
>>490 By all means!
492. Anonymous Human
>>490 Don't drag it out. (Speaking as an edgy otaku)
493. Anonymous Forestfolk
>>490 Long posts make me sleepy... zzz
494. Anonymous Human
>>490 It's fine if it's long, so give us the details.
495. Anonymous Dwarf
>>493 You fell asleep way too fast, lol
I'll tell you, then.
First, although it's often forgotten, FSW takes place in a virtual world created by WSS. And the goddesses are pseudo-personality AIs that have existed as the world's administrators since the game's development stage. In other words, they're the administrators.
Keep in mind that, in-game, they're actual gods.
496. Anonymous Beastman
There are lots of games that have AI run things.
But I've never heard of any besides FSW that use pseudo-personality AIs.
497. Anonymous Dwarf
>>496 That's where it all ties in.
The goddesses created various races when the world was being created.
Apparently, all the basic races of beasts and monsters were created by one goddess or another. They then branched into various races through repeated evolution and reproduction.
The goddesses have no hierarchy, so beasts, monsters, and humanity are all beings of equal value.
498. Anonymous Human
Huh! I had no idea!
499. Anonymous Human
So they're essentially the same?
500. Anonymous Dwarf
Oh! Apparently dragons are the exception.
Apparently they originated from a mutated monster that became incomprehensibly strong.
And the one who created humanity, including humans and Forestfolk, was none other than the goddess Aruru.
501. Anonymous Beastman
Seriously!? The dragons in FSW are insane...
502. Anonymous Dwarf
Aruru is the 'Goddess of Light and Order,' right? So apparently she disliked how monsters and beasts level up, evolve, and change appearance.
That's why humanity can only evolve once, at level 50, and even then the evolution barely changes their appearance.
503. Anonymous Human
Evolution in a game would be called metamorphosis in real life, after all...
They call it evolution in every work because metamorphosis sounds bad, lol
504. Anonymous Human
I understand why humanity only evolves once, but I still don't see where this is going.
505. Anonymous Forestfolk
What does this have to do with discriminating against monsters?
506. Anonymous Dwarf
>>503 >>504 That's where I'm getting to, so don't rush me.
So, the goddesses wanted the races they created to be orderly beings. That's why humanity is more intelligent than other monsters and the like. And to make use of that intelligence, humans were given the dexterity to create tools.
That's why humanity excels at advanced social life, architecture, and so on.
507. Anonymous Human
So they were given intelligence and dexterity without undergoing evolution in the real-world sense?
508. Anonymous Dwarf
>>506 That's right.
And as civilization developed to its current level, a strange ideology emerged.
That was human supremacism.
509. Anonymous Human
The pieces are starting to fit together.
510. Anonymous Dwarf
Humanity is the supreme race, while all the other monsters and whatnot are ugly and utterly useless! They started saying things like that without a second thought.
Apparently Aruru initially told them that was wrong, but several hundred years ago, one human did something that made the dragon leader furious.
On the dragon leader's orders, dragons attacked cities all over the world, and an enormous number of humans died.
511. Anonymous Human
I can see where this is going, can't I?
512. Anonymous Dwarf
They somehow managed to calm the dragon leader down, but Aruru was deeply saddened by the massacre of her followers.
So she thought this:
"To make sure something like this never happens again, we should spread human supremacism."
513. Anonymous Human
What!?
514. Anonymous Beastman
The goddess fell to the dark side? Lol
515. Anonymous Dwarf
>>514 Exactly.
So the fact that there's one goddess who wants to 'increase the number of monster players' and another who wants to 'eradicate monsters from the world' is the reason everything seems so contradictory.
That was the story from either a priest or a bishop at the Twelve Great Temples.
516. Anonymous Human
That makes sense.
So it all ties into the worldbuilding.
517. Anonymous Forestfolk
Is this a side effect of making a pseudo-personality AI the administrator?
But real-world mythology has more than its share of gods arguing with each other, too. It feels oddly realistic.
518. Anonymous Human
Those goddesses are so human.
What a hassle.
519. Anonymous Forestfolk
Ah, I'm the one who posted the breaking news earlier, but I have new information.
Hero-kun isn't keen on excluding monsters.
According to him, 'It's wrong to completely deny someone the way they want to enjoy the game. Unless that player attacked residents, I won't fight them except when I happen to encounter them.'
520. Anonymous Human
Oh! Now that's a hero!
521. Anonymous Human
That's so cool! I couldn't refuse so clearly myself.
522. Anonymous Human
As expected of that show-off, lol
523. Anonymous Dwarf
>>522 Go back to the unofficial anti-Hero thread.
524. Anonymous Forestfolk
He said it at the Adventurers' Guild, so I think the word will spread pretty widely.
Even if they're monsters, the general mood had become that hunting new players was lame.
So, all you Second-Wave folks reading this thread! Feel safe becoming monsters!
525. Anonymous Human
The only ones who'll attack you are Hero-kun's antis and broke, weak players!
526. Anonymous Beastman
>>525 Is that really something we can feel safe about...?

【Aim for】General Strategy Thread 26【Fourth Field!】
1. Torch
This is the General Strategy Thread. Let's share strategy information!
Observe basic etiquette. The administrators will delete your posts.
Previous thread http://****************
>>980 Please make the next thread.
247. Nutmeg
The third field is
Secan, the merchant city, to the east,
an unbroken forest to the west,
Sados, a city about the same size as Fars, to the south,
and mountains to the north.
According to the residents, there aren't any cities to the west or north.
So everything beyond there is monster territory.
248. Ricardo
Hmm, so the third field still hasn't been fully cleared.
Clearing it before the Second Wave arrives... That's impossible, right?
249. Daken
It looks like we'll be able to establish clans soon, and we'll be busy competing to recruit members, too.
250. Akatsuki
I've been wondering this for a while, but what do you think is in the lake beyond the northern mountains?
It can't just be a place where you can catch fish.
251. Mountain Hound
Ah, it wouldn't be strange if there were something there.
Something like a hidden area.
252. Guren
Speaking of hidden areas, the residents said there's a sewer beneath Fars.
I wonder if we'll be able to explore that, too.
253. Kota
Speaking of hidden areas, could the western cave have nothing to do with the main route?
Maybe you'd pass through it and find a city spread out beyond it.
254. Jack
>>253 No, no. The residents said there aren't any cities to the west or north, so that's not it.
Apparently the cave descends underground and becomes completely dark, so even the residents' adventurers don't enter it.
255. Jiromaru
Even with 【Exploration Magic】, exploring a cave that might go on forever while constantly maintaining visibility for yourself and your companions is a bit much.
256. Rouge
More importantly, being able to travel between cities you've visited before is convenient, but fifty thousand Zels per person isn't a rip-off?
How many monsters are we supposed to hunt to earn fifty thousand Zels...!
257. Aina
>>256 I know what you mean. A full party of six costs three hundred thousand Zels, after all.
Apparently the eastern route leads to the royal capital, and the roads there are well maintained.
The country's army seems to be doing its job properly, too, keeping the monster population thinned out.
As a result, the monsters that appear along the roads aren't very strong and barely earn us anything. Gathering medicinal herbs is more profitable.
258. Goki
I guess there's no easy way to make money, even in a game...
259. FumiFumi
>>258 There's currently a special demand for various beginner items in preparation for the Second Wave, so gathering quests are pretty profitable, y'know?
260. Barikan
>>259 Why are you speaking in a fake Kansai dialect?
261. Akatsuki
As expected of WSS, that aspect is realistic too.
The closer you get to the city center, the weaker monsters generally become, while strong monsters that yield valuable materials are found in the frontier, that sort of thing.
262. Aina
There are strong monsters in the forests and grasslands off the eastern road, but roaming sub-boss specimens over level 40 appear there from time to time, so it's not reliable...
263. Jack
Random Dungeon is profitable in every possible way right now.
I just can't find one.
264. Akatsuki
>>263 That part is purely luck, unfortunately...

【Famous】Epithet Assignment Thread 14【Tax!】
1. One-Name Human
This is the Epithet Assignment Thread.
Let's give cool epithets to famous players.
Observe basic etiquette. The administrators will delete your posts.
Previous thread http://****************
>>980 Make the next thread!
78. One-Name Human
Hmm, I wonder if any noteworthy person deserving a new epithet will appear...
79. One-Name Human
For now, we have
'Hero' Luke
'Twin Swords' Akatsuki
'Witch' Nutmeg
'Iron Wall' Claude
'Destroyer' Goki
'Mounted Princess' Kanna
'Nightmare of the Northern Mountain'
'Silver Mask'
I guess that's about it.
80. One-Name Forestfolk
>>79 There have also been reports that 'Nightmare of the Northern Mountain' and 'Silver Mask' are event monsters. Is it okay to discuss them here?
81. One-Name Human
>>80 Why not?
I think an epithet becomes established when anyone who hears it is reminded of the same person.
In that respect, 'Nightmare of the Northern Mountain' and 'Silver Mask' are famous monsters that almost every FSW player knows.
That's just my personal opinion, though.
82. One-Name Dwarf
I see. By that logic, I suppose it works.
83. One-Name Human
Leaving aside the definition of an epithet, does anyone know of any other players worthy of one?
84. One-Name Human
What about that unfortunate guy who picked a fight with Hero-kun and got beaten on his first day?
85. One-Name Beastman
>>84 'Idiot' is good enough.
86. One-Name Human
I guess we'll just have to wait for the Second Wave. There have to be a few eccentrics and weirdos among them.

【We Are All】Nonhuman Thread 10【Alive】
1. Anonymous Dog
This is a thread for nonhuman players.
It's a laid-back board where anything goes: casual conversation, questions, and so on.
Previous thread http://***************
>>990 Please make the next thread.
5. Anonymous Bird
This thread has finally reached double digits.
6. Anonymous Lizard
I sure hope the Second Wave newbies get here soon.
7. Anonymous Fish
I may have seen something unbelievable.
8. Anonymous Dog
What happened?
9. Anonymous Fish
I told you I was swimming in the lake north of Fars, right?
A large-scale battle broke out there.
10. Anonymous Lizard
A large-scale battle? What are you talking about?
11. Anonymous Fish
That lake has Lizardmen and Toadmen, right? Those two groups don't get along.
12. Anonymous Bird
I heard that before.
13. Anonymous Fish
The Toadmen had been unusually active for some reason over the past week, and apparently the Lizardmen finally lost patience and went to war with them.
14. Anonymous Dog
What!? That happened where there weren't any players?
15. Anonymous Fish
Though it might have been because I was there watching.
Anyway, the Lizardmen won the war, but... I want you to look at this.
Here: [image]
16. Anonymous Lizard
!?
17. Anonymous Dog
Is this... a dragon?
18. Anonymous Bird
Are there dragons living in that lake!?
19. Anonymous Fish
Since it wasn't fighting the Lizardmen, it might be their object of worship, like in classic fantasy.
But the important thing is that the dragon and the Lizardmen apparently have a cooperative relationship. If we hunt a bunch of Lizardmen, we might get to fight the dragon.
So I wanted to ask everyone: do you think I should make this information public?
20. Anonymous Lizard
I'm against it.
At least I don't want it to be killed before I get to see a dragon in the flesh!
21. Anonymous Bird
I'm against it, too.
We got information that even the strategy group doesn't know, so let's leave it alone until they notice and enjoy watching from the sidelines.
22. Anonymous Dog
I'm with those two.
Come to think of it, what happened afterward?
23. Anonymous Fish
I approached it to observe more closely, but a Lizardman fisherman's harpoon pierced me and I despawned.
24. Anonymous Lizard
That wrapped things up nicely, lol
