The newcomers are already pouring in! It's midnight in-game, though. lol
488.Anonymous Human
Welcome, newcomers!
489.Anonymous Forestfolk
It's late, but the city is bustling. The merchant residents are even running special late-night hours.
490.Anonymous Mountainfolk
>>487 By the time you finish the tutorial battle training, register with the guild, and shop for adventure supplies, dawn will be breaking, so it's perfect timing.
491.Anonymous Human
I'm a newcomer starting today. May I ask a question?
492.Anonymous Mountainfolk
The tavern is lively too! There are more dancer girls than usual!
493.Anonymous Forestfolk
>>491 Sure! Ask away!
494.Anonymous Beastfolk
>>491 What do you want to know?
This old man will teach you everything, nice and slowly (sultry).
495.Anonymous Human
Here's my question. What is the strongest weapon for a warrior?
496.Anonymous Beastfolk
>>491 Ask me anything. (Putting on a veteran act?)
497.Anonymous Mountainfolk
>>495 Ah, questions like that always start a fight...
498.Anonymous Human
>>495 If that's what you want to know, you'd be better off looking here.
Here: Weapon Analysis Thread Archive http://****************
499.Anonymous Human
>>495 It depends on your purpose and the situation, though.
500.Anonymous Forestfolk
>>495 By the way, what kind of weapon do you use?
501.Anonymous Human
>>500 I'm a mage. I want to know about reliable frontliners.
502.Anonymous Mountainfolk
>>501 So you want to use it as a reference when choosing companions.
It's explained in detail in the weapon analysis thread above, so you should seriously read that instead.
The regulars here haven't memorized everything, either.
503.Anonymous Human
>>502 Understood. Thank you.
504.Anonymous Human
>>494 Lol, you got ignored.
505.Anonymous Forestfolk
It's truly regrettable that we couldn't answer the newcomer's very first question in a question thread.
506.Anonymous Beastfolk
>>504 (´・ω・)
507.Anonymous Human
>>505 W-we did give advice, at least. (Trembling voice.)
508.Anonymous Human
May I ask a question?
509.Anonymous Human
>>507 Advice isn't an answer to the question. (Smugly.)
510.Anonymous Mountainfolk
>>508 What is it?
511.Anonymous Human
I'm a warrior. Should I learn magic as well?
512.Anonymous Human
>>511 Oh! That's a good question! Let me answer it.
To put it simply, a swordsman who can also use magic will become stronger, but the early game will be rough.
513.Anonymous Forestfolk
>>511 Once you get through the early game, you'll be able to fight normally.
After that, it's a matter of preference.
514.Anonymous Mountainfolk
>>511 You'll inevitably be a jack of all trades, but you'll have more options than a pure physical character, so having one in the party is a big help.
If you're fighting other players, they're currently among the strongest builds. The winner of the arena tournament... is a bit of a special case, so I'll leave them out, but I think half of the finalists could also use magic.
Also, you should pick up 【Null Magic】!
515.Anonymous Forestfolk
>>514 Null Magic?
516.Anonymous Mountainfolk
>>515 【Null Magic】 has a good balance between offense and defense. Its power is modest, but it uses little MP, making it ideal for frontliners.
If you keep raising its level, you'll learn a spell called Magic Jamming. It's extremely effective against magic, so frontliners who can use it are highly valued.
The downside is that it consumes MP like crazy while active, so you'll run out quickly if you can't pace yourself in battle.
You can also learn it through the Adventurer's Guild magic course, which is a major advantage. You don't have to spend precious SP!
517.Anonymous Forestfolk
>>516 I see! Thank you!
That was very helpful!
518.Anonymous Beastfolk
I wonder if the newcomers will grow stronger this way, only for us to realize they've surpassed us before we know it...
519.Anonymous Forestfolk
>>518 If that happens, I'll be happy and sad at the same time...

【New Continent】 General Strategy Thread 40 【Where?】
1.Guren
This is the general strategy thread.
Post any strategy information you're willing to share.
Please observe basic etiquette. The admins will delete it.
Previous thread http://****************
>>980, you're in charge of the next thread.
86.Akatsuki
So, is it safe to say that none of the strategy group found another continent after all?
87.Nutmeg
>>86 Probably. Everyone seems to have turned out to be different, including the mediocre self-proclaimed members of the strategy group and the highly skilled players who don't focus on strategy.
88.Jack
The world map in the library is pretty rough, and apparently there may be continents that aren't on it.
More than anything, they never revealed which continent they went to...
89.Yamaken
The strategy group's name is taking a beating...
90.Rouge
>>89 Don't say things like that!
I mean, I'm curious where they went too, but I'm even more curious about how they got there.
I heard the coast is still a long way off, even if they tried to cross the sea.
91.Fumifumi
>>90 You heard that from whom? What's your source?
92.Rouge
>>91 Kanna-san
93.Goki
>>92 That explains it.
94.Ricardo
>>92 As expected of her. lol
95.Jiromaru
>>92 She carries a tent, takes her hubby (the horse), and just tears off without thinking about anything, right?
96.Rouge
>>95 That's right.
Apparently she avoids the bosses she can avoid and just enjoys becoming one with the wind.
Then she cuts down monsters at random, gaining levels and collecting materials along the way.
97.Kota
>>96 You can really avoid the bosses!?
That's the first I've heard of it.
98.Barikan
>>97 Apparently. They say you can ignore them and continue if you make a wide detour.
Actually, that route seems to be used by traveling merchants and the like.
99.Kota
>>98 Ah!
So that's how traveling merchants who look obviously weak can come from distant regions!
It wasn't just a game mechanic after all.
100. Daken
>>99 Don't assume WSS-style games have things like that.
If you write it off as 'It's a game,' you might miss an enormous flag.
101.Guren
Anyway, getting back to the topic, where do you think the other continent the players reached is?
I'm voting for the Terrastall Continent, which is said to be the largest continent in the world.
102.Torch
Then I'm voting for the Aquaria Archipelago, which apparently has thriving maritime trade.
103.Akatsuki
Then I'll go with the Flama Volcanic Island.
We might find some new ores there.
104.Aina
Then I'm voting for the long shot, the Vetus Floating Island.
I have absolutely no idea how anyone would get there, though.
105.Yamaken
>>104 Maybe they built an airship. (Just guessing.)
106.Goki
I want materials from the other continents...
107.Daken
>>106 All we can do is pray that the players who went there bring some back.
108.Akatsuki
>>107 At least say you'll go yourself. lol You're supposedly part of the strategy group. lol

【Second Wave】 Job Guide Thread 44 【Must Read!】
1.Anonymous Human
This is the Job guide thread.
It contains information on the Jobs available to players.
If you've discovered an unknown Job, please report it if possible!
However, to make it clear whether the information is fake, please reveal your identity when reporting a new Job.

Job summary for the Second Wave
The Apprentice ○○ → ○○ progression is almost fixed, regardless of whether the Job is combat-oriented or crafting-oriented. However, having any Skill at level 10 or higher seems to increase the number of choices.
For warrior-type Jobs, you can choose Swordsman; for mage-type Jobs, Fire Mage, and so on.
If you want to become a warrior who can also use magic, becoming an Apprentice Mage here is a valid option. There is apparently a Job whose requirement seems to be having gone through a mage-type Job.
You are of course free to choose your Job, but for a frontliner, Jobs related to the weapon you use are recommended. If you use a sword, choose Swordsman; if you use a spear, choose Spearman, and so on.
As for backliners, especially mages, choose your Job based on whether you want to specialize in one type of elemental magic or use a variety of elemental magic.
Crafting also comes down to whether you specialize in one thing or make a variety of items. Specialization is the mainstream choice here, though. In fact, there aren't even any First Wave players who make everything.
Crafting in FSW is difficult, and you can't produce decent items without raising your Ability levels. So even if you do it, two related types are about the limit. For example, 【Smithing】 and 【Crafting】 for decorating the things you forge.
Crafting Skills give creations a distinct personality depending on how you choose them, so there is effectively no standard combination. Check the crafting board to see what each Job and combination can produce.
305.Anonymous Mountainfolk
Honestly, you don't really start looking closely at this thread until after you get an Apprentice Job, right?
306.Anonymous Human
Whoa, so that's what crafting is like.
I had no idea.
307.Kanna
New Job report.
Job: 'Cavalry.' The conditions are unknown, but I suspect it is related to mounted combat.
308.Anonymous Human
>>307 Thanks for the information!
As expected of the pioneer of mounted combat!
309.Anonymous Forestfolk
I'm Second Wave, but is she famous?
310.Anonymous Mountainfolk
>>309 Not just famous. She made it to the finals bracket in the individual arena tournament and won the pairs division.
She's definitely one of the top three female warrior players.
311.Anonymous Human
>>309 She's also a helpful person who has reported discovering mounted Jobs in this very thread.
Is the progression Apprentice Warrior → Apprentice Rider → Rider → Cavalry?
312.Kanna
The promotional video shows me losing a battle, so it's embarrassing.
313.Anonymous Forestfolk
>>312 No, no, being able to fight that well as a pair against the boss of the 'Plains of Shura,' famed as an upgraded version of the 'Nightmare of the Northern Mountain,' is more than enough. lol
By the way, you reached level 30, didn't you? Congrats!
314.Kanna
>>313 Thank you! In both senses!
315.Anonymous Human
So the appearance of a fourth Job means she's over level 30, right?
Isn't that basically strategy-group level!?
316.Anonymous Beastfolk
Huh? Isn't level 30 around the middle ranks of the strategy group...?
317.Kanna
Is it? I just defeat enemies while enjoying a pleasant ride with my husband...
Oh, right. A new Job appeared for my husband too.
It's called 'Warhorse.'
318.Anonymous Human
>>317 Seriously!?
319.Anonymous Forestfolk
>>317 Is it a nonhuman Job specifically for horse-type creatures?
320.Anonymous Mountainfolk
>>317 Since no one had reported it before, that means he used to have a normal Job...
So does the Job of the mount change based on the Job of the person riding it?
321.Anonymous Human
>>317 They've been playing together the whole time, so her husband must be level 30 too.
A level 30 horse... He could probably trample a whole group of newcomers by himself. lol
322.Kanna
I have another related report.
I think my husband has reported it on the Nonhuman board, but my husband evolved into a monster.
Horse → Giant Horse → Steed → Demon Horse
That's the progression. So his Race is Demon Horse and his Job is Warhorse.
323.Kanna
Also, before he became a monster, an information message apparently appeared saying, 'Becoming a monster will make it difficult to enter some cities. Is this really okay?'
324.Kanna
Also, I think it may be possible to keep leveling up as a Steed.
The instructor teaching the 【Riding】 Skill in Fars is riding a level 42 Steed.
325.Anonymous Human
Lmaoooo
326.Anonymous Human
Some seriously outrageous information just slipped out so casually. lol
327.Anonymous Forestfolk
Is choosing not to evolve actually an option!?
328.Anonymous Mountainfolk
Then is it possible for monsters to choose not to evolve too?
329.Anonymous Human
>>327 Wait, couldn't it be that the instructor's beloved horse simply 'couldn't' evolve?
330.Anonymous Beastfolk
Ahhh! This is obviously off-topic, but I can't stop myself from getting excited about it!
331.Anonymous Forestfolk
>>328 If only we had the monster bro here, we could ask him...
332.Anonymous Human
>>329 What do you mean?
333.Anonymous Mountainfolk
>>329 Huh?
334.Anonymous Beastfolk
>>329 What do you mean by that?
335.Anonymous Human
I'm the person who posted 329, but Jobs usually have all sorts of requirements, right?
Then wouldn't it be more natural to assume that there are some conditions you have to clear in order to evolve?
Of course, choosing not to evolve and remain an ordinary animal should also be an option. But couldn't it also be that the mount ridden by the instructor in Fars hadn't met the conditions for evolution?
336.Anonymous Human
Continuation of 335
In other words, my theory is that you have to 'clear specific conditions' before you can evolve.
Or perhaps you can only evolve once you've cleared specific conditions? If this theory is correct, monster players who leech levels might end up with the level of a fully fledged player without ever evolving. Like a level 30 goblin.
According to the monster bro, evolution provides a pretty substantial boost, so I doubt it's easy enough to evolve just by leveling up.
This has been off-topic speculation so far, but I think there absolutely have to be Jobs that only monsters can take.
So, to all you fellow Second Wave monster players who might be lurking here, please provide information when new Jobs are revealed!
337.Anonymous Forestfolk
>>336 You forced the conversation toward Jobs pretty aggressively. lol
But there probably are Jobs that only monsters can take.
