The Fate of the Outstretched Hand

Having somehow shaken off Gordon's cavalry, Alois and the others had been waiting for an opportunity to force their way through the first encirclement. But after hearing Gordon's words, they stopped in their tracks.

"Princess Christa..."

Rupert stared blankly toward the castle.

But Alois snapped Rupert out of it.

"Your Highness! We can't save anyone by standing here and watching! Let's do what we can now!"

"But... because I abandoned her..."

"You didn't abandon her! You merely fulfilled your duty as a member of the imperial family! The same goes for Princess Christa! She didn't help because she judged that doing so would work against us! If you doubt that judgment, I'll back you up! You haven't done anything wrong!"

"Alois..."

"Leave Princess Christa to Grauh and Prince Arnolt in the castle. Both of them are crafty characters. They'll manage somehow."

"But... the enemy is Brother Gordon, isn't he...? What might he do...?"...
