“Kagami-san, wake up. Come on, we have to go pick up Menou!”

“If you don't get up soon, Takako-san will come wake you, too, you know?”

It was morning in Valman. The Demon King's army had attacked the day before, and the city was bustling despite the early hour as people repaired damaged buildings and tended to the wounded. Even from the inn window, Kagami could see adventurers with Craftsman and Priest roles hurrying back and forth.

The night before, after wiping out all the monsters and returning to the city, Kagami had lied that the demon man had escaped, bringing the situation to a close. The other adventurers and the Hero's party had bombarded him with questions—how he'd defeated them, what his Level was, and so on—but he brushed them all aside. After returning to the inn with Alice and Takako, he told them the truth.

“It's been a while since I saw Menou... Come on, Kagami-san, get dressed, get dressed!”

“Aaaah, Alice-san, you pervert! Jeez, don't rush me so much. That demon old man should still be waiting, and I told him we'd come get him around noon.”

Alice wore a cheerful smile as she forcibly snatched the blanket away from Kagami.
