Chapter 61. The Great Escape (2)

Late at night, a major event occurred, predictably causing chaos.

Wherever they were, upon receiving the report that the King had fled, everyone dropped what they were doing and rushed to the Royal Palace, often without even changing their clothes.

The scene was pure pandemonium, a motley crew of those who'd been drinking all night since dawn, those who'd been sound asleep, and those who'd been in the company of women.

Despite all this, the summons had supposedly only gone out to influential figures in The Kingdom’s political sphere.

"Is everyone here?"

"Seems like it."

"Then, I'll explain the sequence of events."

In any case, once everyone who needed to be present, including us, had arrived, Major General Kaisel, who had been waiting, began the briefing.

"Approximately two hours ago, around 6:00 AM, the first witness came forward. A servant, who went to greet His Majesty as usual, found the bedroom empty."
