Chapter 73. The Great Schism of the Church (1)

Though our covert infiltration operation resulted in the rather *minor* mishap of burning down the enemy government building and religious headquarters, causing astronomical damage... well, anyway.

Having miraculously escaped safely, we joined up with the other unit members and began our journey back to the kingdom.

"The checkpoints are operating as usual? Shouldn't they be on high alert by now?"

"They probably don't have the wherewithal. How can the lower ranks make decisions when the top brass is gone?"

The journey back was easy. We didn't have to cut through checkpoints like Guan Yu. These guys were too careless.

We hid the loot and put on some simple disguises, and everyone was fooled. They didn't even check our nationality.

Thanks to that, we easily passed through the Kailas Kingdom via the Amas Cathedral, which we had previously raided. Our group, now one member larger, successfully returned to the kingdom's territory without a single casualty.

After sending a messenger to announce our arrival, we slowed our pace to recover from the journey. We could relax our vigilance a bit within our own country.
