Pilot Program (1)

“I know you all have no schedules, so I don’t understand why everyone keeps turning it down.”

In the program’s meeting room, Producer Im Jonghun muttered with his arms crossed. He disliked the way his words were the only things floating through the quiet room, so he raised his voice.

“Has anyone secured a guest? What is this… Hey, Kim Seongjin. You said you had someone you were close with, right? Did you get in touch with them?”

“Uh… they turned it down too.”

“Damn it… You said you could bring them in! This is driving me crazy.”

Jonghun clutched his head. Usually, whenever he said he was producing another program, agencies would constantly ask him to put their artists on it. So why were so many people refusing to appear on the program he had finally decided to produce with all his heart?

It wasn’t as though he planned to produce some especially problematic program. He simply wanted to ride the current ‘rock band boom’ and help revive the rock music he loved, just a little. But since he didn’t know whether that would work, he planned to test the waters with a pilot program first…

Yet somehow, every proposal he made was being rejected. He was offering them a chance to come out onstage and play music directly, so why were they turning it down? Was it because he wasn’t inviting them as bands?

“Uh… I think I have a rough idea.”
