Chapter 102

The small village of Kanyes lay between Contium and Ahan. Like most frontier villages, it was quiet and poor, situated on a western outlying stretch of land.

Kanyes had one major nuisance: a three-story house on the outskirts of the village. The mansion had supposedly been built by a wealthy noble who intended to stay there temporarily, but it had been abandoned after the Demon Realm War, with no one visiting it since.

In the dark forest surrounding the mansion, bright light now streamed out at all times, and countless people went in and out of the forest and the mansion.

The villagers were happy enough that the accidents related to the mansion had disappeared, but as the flow of people traveling to and from the village increased, an unfamiliar liveliness began to spread among them.

The troublesome house had soon become Kanyes’s treasure, and the villagers praised its owner, Lady Marlene.
