After Taking the Long Way Around

Vita simply ran.

Because there was nothing else in her field of vision.

Even if the other passersby saw her as a madwoman. They might think she had been dumped, or something like that, but whether they did or not didn't matter. Nothing like that mattered right now.

‘Please… Not yet…!’

She had one reason to hope.

It was Confession Day. If her guess was right, it wasn't over yet.

Her breath was coming all the way up to her throat.

Her shoes kept slipping off, and in her desperation, Vita ended up abandoning them. They were only getting in her way.

Every second mattered.
