――――――――――【Magical Devices】――――――――――
・Octameteorite
A magic staff with a black giant magic stone polished into a sphere as its core.
It had no multilayered construction or other processing; it was simply made spherical and enshrined in the workshop for many years.
It displayed an abnormally hostile reaction when it encountered the Wizard of Iruma.
It has now been shattered and is silent.
・Hendensho
Sage Dairi's beloved staff.
A simple, general-purpose mass-produced magic staff with a core made from a two-layer-processed Gremlin collected at a transformer substation.
It was upgraded with a backflow prevention mechanism.
During the Aratakigumi incident, it was disassembled for materials to make a magic staff exclusively for the Spider Witch and was lost.
・Dragon-Furnace-Carved Seven-Layer Blue Staff Cureanos
The Blue Witch's beloved staff.
It originally belonged to the Edogawa Witch. After it was stolen by the Wizard of Iruma, the Blue Witch defeated him and used the blue magic stone she obtained as its core. It has been upgraded repeatedly over time and is the strongest piece of overtechnology.
① Seven-layer processing
② Backflow prevention mechanism
③ Mana meter (witch scale)
④ Kvant-style magic compression cross-ring
⑤ Emergency defense mechanism
⑥ Curse mechanism
⑦ No-incantation mechanism
・Regular Dodecahedral Fractal Magic Staff Aleister (magic staff)
Ohinata Kei's beloved staff.
It has a Gremlin core processed into a regular dodecahedral fractal and protected with resin.
It seals a cast spell in a standby state; casting it once more activates it at one hundredth of its power.
・Chain Staff
The Hachioji Witch's staff. It used a large jet-black Gremlin as its core and incorporated chains into its design.
Because its owner died, it is currently being held by the Witches' Gathering.
・Eyeball Staff
The Eyeball Witch's staff. Its inscription is Witch of Gaze.
It incorporates an eyeball motif. Otherwise, it is an ordinary staff with a Gremlin core.
・Flame-Bearing Witch's Staff
Sturdy. Its handle is made of metal. Its inscription is Witch of Flame.
It was stolen once but returned. It is currently kept under tight security at the Flame-Bearing Witch's home.
・Hell Witch's Staff
A staff used to free the Hell Witch from the suppression of magical runaway.
It is currently being held by the Witches' Gathering.
・Farsight Staff
The Farsighted Wizard's staff. It has a backflow prevention mechanism of the highest possible performance.
・Möbius Loop Censer Hariti
The Hell Witch's beloved staff.
The Hell Witch received it from a local police officer. Its amber magic stone core originally belonged to a resident who found a meteorite, turned it in at the police box, and left the officers at a loss over what to do with it.
Three small rings hang on each side of the large ring, and every ring is shaped like a Möbius strip. It does not vibrate abnormally or break even when casting simultaneously. Its magic amplification effect is onefold.
・Thirteen Ritual Implements of Ritual Magic
Ritual magic implements consisting of twelve Möbius strips carved in exactly the same shape from a single giant-monster Gremlin, plus one Möbius strip one size larger.
Using the large ring as the activation point, they can divide mana consumption into thirteen parts to cast magic.
They are currently the cornerstone of Minato Ward's defense.
・Blood Staff Vampir
Originally belonging to the Vampire Wizard, it was stolen by the Dragon Witch and later recovered. It is a magic-stone staff with a red magic stone core, manufactured by Tokyo Magic University with considerable expandability in the hope of advancing magic-staff technology.
It is currently used in the defense of Minato Ward.
・Firekeeper's Staff
The staff of the Flame-Bearing Witch's family.
A sealing staff whose core is a mechanism incorporating small Monster Snips into the top and bottom of a lantern.
Only someone of the same bloodline can draw out and use the racial traits of the Flame-Bearing Witch sealed inside.
・Gunstaff “Giant Godslayer”
The beloved staffs of the Transcendents of the Tohoku Hunting Association.
It has a three-layer core using divided magic stones, along with a backflow prevention mechanism.
It can switch between ordinary staff mode and gun mode with its mechanism unfolded.
It was designed on the assumption that sealing rounds would be used.
・Seven Wind-Instrument Ritual Implements
Seven harmonicas carved in exactly the same shape from a single Daidarabotchi Gremlin.
They are used in experiments to pronounce sounds that cannot be pronounced.
They are currently stored in the Department of Magical Linguistics at Tokyo Magic University.
・0933-Made General-Purpose Magic Staff
A two-layer Gremlin staff given to Tokyo Magic University graduates.
Its supply ceased after Dairi was sealed away.
・Spider Witch's Staff
A magic stone that originally belonged to the Lake Biwa Accord passed to the Aratakigumi, and the Spider Witch recovered it from the Aratakigumi. It is a magic-stone staff using a purple magic stone.
The owner is the Spider Witch, and its construction is crude. It can be fixed to a leg holster. Its inscription is Witch of Arachne.
・Lake Biwa Accord Magic-Stone Staff
Three staffs with four-layer construction, backflow prevention mechanisms, and mana meters.
・Eyeball Witch's Staff (Second Generation)
The owner is the Eyeball Witch. After obtaining this magic-stone staff, she gave the Gremlin staff she had previously used to her son. Its inscription is Witch of Gaze. It has five-layer construction, a mana backflow prevention mechanism, and a mana meter.
・Night Witch's Magic-Stone Staff
The owner is the Night Witch. Its inscription is Nyx Cane. It has five-layer construction, a mana backflow prevention mechanism, and a mana meter.
・Farsight Staff (Second Generation)
The owner is the Farsighted Wizard. It has three-layer construction and the highest-performance mana backflow prevention mechanism. It has no inscription.
After obtaining this magic-stone staff, the Gremlin staff previously used is kept as a spare.
・Tobacco Witch's Magic-Stone Staff
The owner is the Tobacco Witch.
A magic-stone staff with a spherical core covered by a regular dodecahedral fractal structure. Its tricky design allows two types of magic to be activated simultaneously in a pseudo-manner.
Its inscription is “Gushiken Stakes.” Gushiken is the Tobacco Witch's surname.
・Sage's Staff (Wise Wand)
The owners are the Blue Witch (made by Dairi) and Yamagami Sho (made by Tokyo Magic University).
It miniaturizes a coffin-shaped meditation chamber and concentrates its functions into a single staff. By pressing the tip against one's forehead and meditating while rotating the internal mechanism with a wind-up spring, one can train one's mana anytime and anywhere.
・Prototype Demon King Staff (Proto Satan Wand) Refikuru
Dairi's second beloved staff.
A prototype created through reverse engineering of the Demon King Gremlin, equipped with an extremely simple no-incantation mechanism. Its core is a sphere made by combining 255 geometric parts, fastened together with thin silver wires so that it will not come apart.
Besides activating an unincanted black beam spell, it can activate incanted spells at full power.
It is currently frozen in ice alongside Dairi.
・Amulet
An amulet made by marbling and solidifying electricity-derived Gremlin with melted-and-re-solidified Gremlin mixed with one's own blood. It emits a magical force field that accelerates mana recovery.
Its initial acceleration effect was at most 5%, but repeated improvements have raised the mana recovery acceleration to 9%.
・Monster Snips
A magical device originating with the Tohoku Hunting Association.
Fragments of several types of magic stones are combined alternately to make a ring. When the ring is filled with mana, it activates a time-delay effect as soon as a living creature (or familiar) enters the ring.
・Sealing Rounds
The mechanism of the Monster Snips is miniaturized and incorporated into bullets. When fired into a living creature (or familiar), it slows the time of the target that was struck.
・Secret Sauce
A magical device originating with the Tohoku Hunting Association.
Its ingredients are the stomach fluids of several types of monsters. Its volume can be increased by adding more monster stomach fluid.
Monster meat upsets the stomach when eaten by humans.
However, soaking it in this sauce makes it edible. Meat soaked in it becomes slightly sour.
・Secret Sauce (India)
A version based on the same principle as Japan's secret sauce, with bile from a specific type of monster added. The sauce's sourness is gentler, with a faint sweetness that makes it easier to eat.
・Mana Meter
An object made by carving grooves into a Gremlin so that it produces structural color. Depending on the mana capacity of the person touching it, it changes color as if displaying the remaining mana on a scale. It takes Dairi one day to make one centimeter of it.
200 nm……100K per 1 mm of scale. Used as an option for Transcendent staffs.
300 nm……10K per 1 mm of scale
400 nm……1K per 1 mm of scale. The most commonly produced.
500 nm……0.1K per 1 mm of scale. For precision measurement.
・Mana Recovery Potion
A mana recovery potion hidden by the dove faction of the Lake Biwa Accord. Because of its side effects, it is also called mana drugs.
When taken, it restores mana beyond even the user's maximum capacity.
One dose restores 10K, at the cost of reducing maximum mana by 0.2K.
The less mana one possesses, the stronger the dependence and addiction become. Those with Transcendent-class mana have no dependence or addiction whatsoever. With mana around the average for an ordinary person, a single use leads to ruin.
It is made by refining the sap of a monster called a Treant.
・Coffin-Shaped Meditation Chamber
A mana-training device developed by the Department of Mutation Studies at Tokyo Magic University.
Entering the meditation chamber and meditating is expected to increase one's mana capacity by 0.2K per day.
The better one's mana control (and the greater one's aptitude), the higher the training limit.
The current record for total training is 125K, held by Yamagami Sho of the Kita Ward Security Force, and he is still growing.
・Kvant-Style Magic Compression Ring
A seamless chain ring carved from a single mass of Gremlin. When mana is passed through the ring, it generates enough buoyancy to cancel its own weight and float lightly.
After mana is passed through it to activate it, magic passed through the ring is compressed.
・Magical Alloy
An alloy made from 61% silver, 23% platinum, 10% gold, 2.6% iron, 1.4% copper, 1.1% titanium, and 0.9% Gremlin. By writing magic script with this alloy and casting magic through the script, the effects of magic can be modified in many ways without compromising its original effect.
・Magic Circle
Magic script written in magical alloy and connected to form a ring. Once mana is infused and the spell is cast, it activates continuously for as long as the mana lasts.
・Scroll
A Monster Snips outer ring containing a magic circle and a familiar made from living-text magic. When the Monster Snips structure is collapsed as if pressing a switch, the time-stagnation effect ends and the magic circle's spell activates instantly. It could be called a pseudo-instantaneous, unincanted spell.
・Emergency Defense Attachment
A miniaturized scroll containing the strongest defensive magic. It is compatible with and can be attached to every staff made by Dairi.
・Demon King Gremlin
The black Gremlin possessed by the Demon King.
A mass of extremely advanced magical technology, consisting of 600,000 Gremlin parts.
The types of Gremlin used include ordinary Gremlin, melted-and-re-solidified Gremlin, elastic Gremlin, magnetically reactive Gremlin, high-strength Gremlin, invisible Gremlin, and others. Humanity does not even understand how to manufacture the materials.
According to Dairi, “If the current level of magical science on Earth is a toddler playing with wooden blocks, the Demon King Gremlin is about the size of a space station.”
Dairi has disassembled 20% of the whole, and it is now sealed in the ice of Great Glacial Magic beside him.
・Three-Dimensional Mana Recovery Field
A space that Iruma developed to promote mana recovery. By arranging multiple amulets three-dimensionally and combining their force fields in three dimensions, it can restore the mana of zombies, who should normally be unable to recover mana.
This technology was lost with Iruma's disappearance.
・Alraune's Secret Nectar
A secret elixir of nature that preserves the youth of anyone who drinks it and extends their lifespan.
This nectar is produced at a rate of only one drop per year, but when an alraune dies and withers, it overflows in a quantity sufficient to fill a large vat. If enough can be secured, it is practically the same as obtaining eternal life.
・Mermaid's Necklace
Mermaids love the sea, and the sea loves mermaids.
The necklace is a token of gratitude from a mermaid.
The sea will never harm anyone who possesses the necklace.
