The Demon Called a Transcendent Being

Sometimes Barbatos would refer to Demons, her own Kin, as Transcendent Beings.

Honestly, it's not a term that particularly resonates with me.

Their lifespans, easily exceeding hundreds of years, and their ability to thrive without food, are certainly “transcendent” qualities. But I don't recall them ever displaying an overwhelming presence.

*Of course, each one was strong.*

But they weren't so mighty that they couldn't be fought. Demons? Honestly, some of them got thrashed by me in a 1-on-1.

Yet, there were a few I felt were truly overwhelming. Monsters that, borrowing Barbatos's narcissistic phrasing, could truly be called “Transcendent Beings”.

Only four King-level Demons exist in the Demon Realm. The clear Rulers of the Demon Realm, including Amon and Paimon. And now, those guys are supposedly reappearing. Of course, I'm interested.

First, I asked her, filled with doubt.

“Already? We haven't even found the Altar yet, and enough mana has already gathered for a descent?”

Even the King of the Demon Realm wasn't without restrictions...
