We returned with Allucia, Lucy, and Myui to the front of the Rebellio Knights' Order headquarters.
In the end, we left it to the ordinary knights to secure the place—or rather, keep watch over it. Myui and I couldn't stay there, and we couldn't leave important figures like Allucia and Lucy tied up there, either.
Well, it was right in the middle of the Central District, surrounded mostly by ordinary homes, so nothing too serious was likely to happen. And even if something did, the knights were used to handling trouble.
“What about those people?”
“Yes, ma'am. They're being held in the basement.”
After we returned to headquarters, Allucia stopped one of the knights who had brought Dusk and the others back ahead of us and asked where they were.
Huh, so the Knights' Order headquarters has a basement, too. I'd never known, since I had no reason to go down there. Of course, I didn't have any reason or business there in the first place.
Still, the Rebellio Knights' Order wasn't just an organization that existed for the sake of ceremony. It also helped maintain order in the great city of Baltrain, and sometimes deployed as an active force, as it had today.
I wasn't naive enough to think an organization like that was completely clean, inside and out.
Of course, I wasn't saying they did anything bad. Maybe it was a matter of accepting the good along with the bad. Any organization probably had aspects like that, to a greater or lesser degree. It wasn't something I needed to worry about much, anyway...
