Chapter 1: Prologue

Never thought I'd get backstabbed like this by the author of a novel I was enjoying.

The novel "Academy's Unrivaled Divine Sword". It's a story about a protagonist in South Korea's Hunter World who awakens the "Divine Sword" ability from rock bottom, grows at the academy, and ultimately becomes a famous S-Rank Hunter in Korea.

And its sequel "Academy's Divine Sword Legend". A new protagonist receives the Divine Sword from a Constellation and grows through the academy.

It's formulaic if you want to call it that, but it was pretty entertaining.

Except for one thing.

"What's even the point of this heroine's existence?"

Yoo Eun-ha, one of the main heroines in Divine Sword Legend.

She's the younger sister of the previous protagonist Yoo Jin-seok, and after being constantly compared to him, she became a shut-in until receiving an academy recommendation letter and being basically forced to enroll at Hanseong Academy, the main setting of the game.

But the problem is Eun-ha's setup is fucked up.

Having grown up constantly being compared to the protagonist, this twisted kid expressed her dissatisfaction with the world through smoking and getting piercings all over her ears and body.

Up to here, it seems like the story of a delinquent girl that the protagonist pulls out and reforms into a heroine. But the reality is different.

"Sorry, this is as far as I go."

"No, you're not going to die! You can definitely survive!"

"If only I had realized sooner..."

Someone watching might think she dies heroically fighting monsters, but she actually dies when her solar plexus gets pierced by a stray attack while the protagonist is fighting a villain who invaded the academy.

What the fuck was the point of setting her up as a heroine then?

They even gave her a pretty decent ability, making readers hope she might be a legitimate heroine candidate.

As a corporate slave, reading web novels after work was my only joy in life. Getting so pissed off I could feel the back of my head burning up, I asked:

[BlackCompanyKorea: What the actual fuck was the reason for killing Yoo Eun-ha?]

[Writer: There were too many heroines so I tried cutting down lol ;;]

Lol ;;? LOL FUCKING ;;?!

Must be real fucking funny, you piece of shit.

Already on edge from dealing with my boss, that absurd response made me snap. Forget lawsuits or whatever, I unleashed every possible curse word known to mankind in a long-winded rant.

[Writer: Look, reader. You'd understand if you tried writing. There are over 10 heroines, I had to cut some to balance their screentime.]

Oh fuck off with that bullshit. Then don't make her a heroine in the first place.

As I was about to unleash another string of profanities, that author bastard wrote another comment.

[Writer: I do feel bad about wasting her ability. Want to try it yourself?]

"What are you talking about? Hell no."

[Writer: It's gotta be better than your current shit life, right?]

"Oh that is tempting- Wait, who are you calling shit? Hold up, I'm speaking out loud but why do you keep responding in messages?"

[Writer: Then as you wish.]

"No wait, hold the fuck u-"

Before I could finish, suddenly my computer made a "poof" sound.

In that moment, I felt my consciousness fading as everything went dark before my eyes.
