Preparing for Nuclear Weapons Development

No asymmetric weapon can surpass nuclear weapons.

Even on twenty-first-century Earth, the ultimate weapon capable of erasing a city with a single bombing run remains the most powerful weapon, even eighty years after its development.

A weapon that shocking was needed to deter war.

Machine guns, which had appeared to deter war, failed to prevent it. Once a single machine gunner could wield as much firepower as hundreds of men, the great powers simply deployed hundreds of machine gunners.

That's why I think we need nuclear weapons.

One world war may be necessary, if only to serve as a lesson. But if another war breaks out after that, it will be a global catastrophe.

Of course, if one more world war broke out and the whole world went up in flames, that would be good for our Empire.

No one would be insane enough to try to break through our navy and attack us while the great powers were busy fighting one another...
